LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2024 Northern California Prospect Gateway
Pitching - Side steps into a belt high knee lift. Smaller drop into driveleg. Smaller stride down the mound. Slower paced delivery. Medium arm path in the back that appeared late in getting up with minimal extension at release that caused consistent armside misses. I would recommend trying to work with more pace in the delivery and possibly cue yourself to get the arm up earlier in the operation. - Cuts the FB a bunch. Try to stay flush behind the baseball at release. SL is still developing, Would recommend just cueing yourself to maintain same armspeed as FB with same slot. Fielding - OF - Developing actions overall. Average quickness in initial approach and slows it down a bunch into reception where you field it off the backfoot with a glove that comes up early at times. Decent exchange and quickness in getting into throws. Work on quickness and fielding those GBs low and out front instead of as deep. - 1B - Showed heavier feet. Hesitant actions/glovework where your body and glove popped up at reception with tendency to field off to the side. Work on fielding it out front and setting direction/momentum through your target. Hitting - Uses a simple lower half toe tap trigger. Hands load the barrel into a slight tip. Shows an uphill path to the baseball with good length through. Hands stay inside the baseball well. Stays behind a firm front side. Majority of contact stayed through the middle of the field but was late at times into landing which caused late/rushed contact. -Swing is solid overall. Small things to work on would be getting to launch earlier than later so not as rushed and be cautious of how you lean back with you posture which could cause some pop up tendencies.
