2024 National West Showcase
Demetrio Carlos Garcia Rivera is a 2024 C/1B, 3B with a durable 6-0 200 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ. Started off the event clocking a 8.00 flat 60-yard dash. A primary catcher that received from a side-saddled stance with active receiving hands and average quickness out of the crouch. Displayed a semi-quick release and accurate throws up to 71 mph from behind the dish during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even base with a high and tight hand set with a high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Slightly elongated swing path with developing bat speed and decent feel for the barrel. Showed mostly pull-side contact that will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent student.
