Mason Youngman is a 2027 C/2B with a 5-4 118 lb. frame from Ashburn, VA who attends Broad Run. Smaller, slender frame with plenty of time and room to physically mature. Recorded a 8.97 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that received from a slightly side-saddled stance with direct midline transfer and developing arm strength. Gains some ground upward towards target and repeats fairly well. Slightly elongated actions throughout the process, recorded arm strength up to 58 mph during drills. Secondary infielder with a developing defensive skill set. Used deliberate footwork to move laterally from side-to-side, while fielding out in-front and working through the baseball with deliberate pace. Produced accurate throws up to 61 mph during drills and will continue to improve with additional lateral range, and arm strength. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, closed off stance with pre-set high hands and short leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half movements into launch, showcased developing bat speed and feel for the barrel. Displayed best impact to there pullside and occasionally produced line drives. Will continue to improve with proper mechanical adjustments and additional physical maturity.Excellent Student.
