Peter Gimino is a 2024 C/2B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Orange, CA who attends Mater Dei. Features a medium build with some strength present. Ran a 7.60 60-yard dash. Primary catcher. Uses a side saddle setup behind the plate. Stays low and gains ground well out of crouch. Displays a quick transfer into accurate throws. Recorded a 1.97 pop time. Also worked out on the infield. Gets around ground balls well. Still developing consistent momentum through the catchpoint. Range likely profiles best for a corner spot long term. Reached 78 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes an even base stance with a crouched lower half. Uses a leg lift timing mechanism with a small hand hitch. Shows quick bat speed on a direct path. Approach is geared toward the pullside. Can drive balls well when squared up. Will need to continue to refine barrel accuracy to tap into power consistently. Excellent student.
