2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (28-29 Grads)
Tate Broom is a 2029 C/RHP/MIF with a 5-9 153 lb. frame from Calhoun, GA who attends Sonoraville. Medium athletic build with some compact young strength to build on. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread and crouched straight stance with a low back elbow load, simple short stride into his swing, repeatable well timed approach, line drive swing with solid contact to all fields, showed some mid field power in the games, should continue to develop as a hitter with additional strength. 7.25 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up side saddle, is quick out of his crouch and has smooth footwork, rotational thrower with good arm strength for his age, has the athleticism to continue to improve behind the plate. Worked out in the infield and showed similar athleticism and quickness there, circled the ball well and adjusted his arm slot naturally. Also pitched, throws from a slow paced delivery with a low 3/4's arm slot, has some deception to his mechanics. Fastball was in the upper 70's and got on hitters quickly, was mostly straight. Slider was a good pitch with some sweeping depth, worked both pitches well to the arm side. Named to the PG High School All-State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
