2003 World Showcase
We've seen Leffler more than any catcher in high school baseball. He is one of the best catch and throw receivers in America. He has a plus arm that is super quick. His throws have big league carry and big league velocity. He is getting bigger and stronger, but still moves like a cat behind the plate. It's real simple with Leffler... If he hits, he's an early draft pick. That's the only question mark. In Ft Myers he showed the additional strength he's gained has helped in the wood bat power department. He showed some extra bat speed, but has a tendency to come around the ball at times. Scott loves to play and really competes. He's a tough kid who plays hard. If the bat has a good Spring he could be in pro ball soon. If not, he will be one of the best college catchers in the country as only a freshman.
