Benjamin Vargas is a 2023 MIF/ with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Anaheim, CA who attends Canyon. Primary infielder with a compact frame. Showed quick actions and athleticism up the middle. Confident movements to either side. Good glove work with softer hands on the transfer. Showed range both ways with an accurate arm on the run. Receives it cleanly and looks comfortable throwing from different angles on the move. Right-handed hitter, starts from a slightly narrow base with a notable leg kick in the load. Strung together barrels with a bit of wrap in the load. Made solid pull-side contact when squared and showed feel for the barrel. Excellent student.
