Law Abston is a 2028 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-9 185 lb. frame from Mobile, AL who attends Ums-Wright Prep. Abston ran a 8.41 Sixty Yard Dash. Primary Left hand pitcher with a medium athletic base with some strength present. Starting with a tighter drop step into a hip height leg lift he creates some rhythm in the glove side working into a straight over the top arm stroke. Abston showed a fastball that sat in the low 70s peaking at 72mph with command to both sides of the plate and some arm side run to the fastball. He mixed in a tight 12-6 breaking g ball with late depth as well as a CH with some fade to it. Secondary First base fielding the ball cleanly out in front with a mid body exchange with a quick first step laterally. The throws were accurate across the diamond with some cary. Left handed hitter starting with an open front side with a slight hanging leg lift trigger working a longer bat path through the zone getting around the base ball at times. Law working a line drive approach to the opposite field. He is an excellent student in the classroom.
