Batting Practice Highlights

2/19/2022

Reese Acord (2023 LHP, Holland, PA) showcased a simple, repeatable stroke with good lower half torque, plenty of present bat speed and definitive barrel skills throughout this round. The strongly built left-handed hitter flashed power to potential to the pullside with leverage out in-front and good extension.

Cristian Mejia (2025 OF, Union City, NJ) is an intriguing 2025 Grad that impressed during his round, as the smooth left-handed hitting outfielder displayed an advanced approach with exceptional barrel awareness and some whip to his barrel. He implores a slightly lofted stroke with looseness to his hands and plenty of present bat speed to impact the baseball well from gap-to-gap.

Alex Kranzler (2023 RHP, Norwood, NJ) took one of the louder rounds of the day, as the strong, physical Missouri commit pummeled baseballs to the middle and pullside of the field. He use his strong lower half and strong hands to generate plenty of present bat speed and impacts the baseball out in-front.

Joe Zito (2024 3B, Howell, NJ) stayed consistent throughout his round, as the compactly built 2024 Grad peppered the entire field with line drive, after line drive. He stays short and direct to the baseball, while showing plenty of present bat speed and whip to his barrel.

Jack Osmond (2025 OF, Jackson, NJ) continued to impress, as the 2025 outfielder showcased legitimate switch-hitting abilities during his round. He stays through the middle-of-the field with his approach from both sides, while displaying quickness to his hand and good barrel depth through the hitting zone. Consistently impacted the baseball with a simple line drive stroke, flashing power potential as he continues to physically mature.

Matthew Goldenbaum (2023 RHP, Fairless Hills, PA) is an athletically built right-handed pitcher committed to South Florida, but showed the ability to handle the bat during his round. He used a simple, repeatable stroke with good feel for the barrel to generate tons of line drive impact to all fields.

Leo Doyle (2023 OF, Staten Island, NY) was impressive during his round, as the quick twitch 2023 Grad displayed lightning quick hands and an innate ability to deliver the barrel on-time. He stays through the middle-of-the field with his approach, while showing the ability to turn the barrel on the inner-half. Flashed gap-to-gap power that will continue to develop with added strength.

Ryan Done (2024 SS, Yorktown Heights, NY) was able to produce numerous well-struck line drives throughout his round, while flashing advanced bat-to-ball skills and some present bat speed. He stays inside the baseball well and uses the whole field effectively.

Aidan Bergholc (2023 3B, Holmes, NY) had perhaps the loudest round of the day, as the physical corner infielder displayed immense power potential to all fields. He uses his lower half exceptionally well to generate tons of present bat and strength at impact, while showing advanced feel for the barrel.

Nelson Grajales Vazquez (2023 C, Odenton, MD) impressed during his round, as he consistently generated line drives to the middle-of-the field. He shows explosive hand speed and good for the barrel, while flashing future power potential.

Jonah Swarts (2022 RHP, Chester, NJ) showcased an impressive hit/power combination during his round, as he impacted the baseball with authority consistently. He implores a loose, leveraged stroke with whip to his barrel and exceptional accuracy.

1-Gold vs 3-White Game Highlights

2/19/2022

Justin Bonito (2023 RHP, Edison, NJ) showcased a smooth stroke back up the middle with effortless bat speed at the dish offensively. Bonito’s approach was simple and repeatable, not trying to do too much while keeping the mechanics controlled. The righty works from 6’1” 175 lb frame and is currently uncommitted.

Aidan Heffner (2023 SS, Averill Park, NY) absolutely barreled a ball into the left center field gap, showing off great lower half rotation and weight shift to drive the baseball with backspin. With a clear athletic look about him, the 5’11” 175 lb framed IF is an asset both offensively and defensively possessing a number of tools and intangibles. Another uncommitted name to watch.

Devin Singh (2024 LHP, West Windsor, NJ) showed command of a three pitch arsenal in two innings of work, successfully changing eye levels and challenging hitters up in the zone. From a projectable 6’3” 190 lb frame, Singh sequenced a fading changeup and 11-5 shaped breaker effectively to produce swing and miss.

2-Navy vs 3-White Game Highlights

2/19/2022

Alex Kranzler (2023 RHP, Norwood, NJ) put together a dominant performance during his two innings of work, striking out five and topping out at 89 mph. The Missouri commit was max effort each pitch, using his lower half well to get downhill from a funky low 3/4 arm slot. Kranzler displayed tons of swing and miss stuff in the arsenal, showcasing a tight 10-4 slider with late bite as his wipeout pitch.

Nelson Grajales Vazquez (2023 C, Odenton, MD) was able to work gap to gap with success, not afraid to go the opposite way on outside pitches. From a 6’0” 180 lb build, Vazquez produced a consistent level bat path through the zone with compact hands evident inside the baseball. The utility prospect has strength in the lower half with power potential continuing to increase.

Christopher Salmon (2024 C, Ewing, NJ) roped a line drive with carry to CF during his AB, showcasing an impressive lefty on lefty swing. Salmon stayed through the baseball and displayed solid post contact extension to drive the ball with backspin. Out of a 5’11” 160 lb frame, Salmon has plenty of time to fill out the build and only add to the power potential present.

Reese Acord (2023 LHP, Holland, PA) had life behind the fastball in his brief one inning appearance on the bump, touching 83 mph from an athletic 6’3” 205 lb build. Acord used a two pitch FB/CB mix effectively to keep hitters off balance, showcasing a solid 11-5 shape on the latter. Expect the lefty to become increasingly more dangerous as a secondary off speed pitch develops.

1-Gold vs 2-Navy Game Highlights

2/19/2022

Jack Osmond (2025 OF, Jackson, NJ) showcased a compact middle of the field approach during his opportunities at the dish, flashing quick hands through the zone with a repeatable stroke. Osmond has an advanced contact tool for his age and should continue to see power potential develop as he matures.

Aiden Cody (2024 RHP, Spring Lake Heights, NJ) was electric on the bump, effortlessly touching high 80s from a still very projectable 6’0” 175 lb frame. Ultimately topping out at 89 mph, the righty consistently used the outer half to freeze hitters with a sharper 10-4 slider in the back pocket. Cody worked with solid tempo and deception during his outing with velocity only expected to increase. Currently uncommitted.

Nicholas Todisco (2022 C, Howell, NJ) successfully saw the ball deep offensively at the plate, using a strong lower half to explode through the zone. From a 6’0” 155 lb frame, Todisco consistently used the middle of the field to his advantage with a level line drive approach. He flashed juice in the barrel yet stayed controlled with the mechanics to produce a repeatable stroke.

Jonah Swarts (2022 RHP, Chester, NJ) consistently flashed a dirty 11-5 shaped curve on command during his one inning appearance on the bump. Running the gun up to 83 mph, Swarts displayed life in the arm from a high 3/4 slot. He worked downhill effectively with repeatable mechanics to pair.

Connor McCloskey (2024 RHP, Yardley, PA) was effective on both the offensive end and on the mound, producing a simple repeatable stroke back up the middle offensively while also touching 80 mph. McCloskey displayed clear athleticism regardless of where he was on the field and still has plenty of time to fill out the 6’1” 160 lb frame as a ’24 grad.
