SWFL Baseball 2027 Takes 15U BCS Qualifier

Quick and consistent offense from SWFL Baseball 2027 earned the 8-5 victory over X Team 2027 in the 15U BCS Qualifier championship match.

SWFL Baseball got an early lead, racking up 7 runs in just the first 4 innings. X Team 2027 attempted a comeback with 5 total runs in the 4th and 5th innings, but did not fully rally by the end of the 7th.

SWFL second baseman Ryder Lutz contributed the most runs for SWFL, knocking in one with a triple, and another with a double. Over the past five games, Lutz has gotten his batting average up to .636. SWFL's other runs were spread out across many teammates - including center fielder Anthony Cabrera, shortstop Braylon Sheffield, left fielder Brody Baxmann, third baseman Boston Selig and extra hitter Derek Hooker.

Left-handed pitcher Ashby Piatt threw 57 pitches through 3.1 innings - working with a high-70s fastball and high 60s slider to strike out 2.

Coming in relief for Piatt was right-hander Noah Kiefer, who pitched 3 innings and used his high-70s fastball and mid-60s slider to strike out 3 batters.

SWFL Baseball 2027 will be staying close to home for the next couple weeks - competing next in the 15U City of Palms Championship in Fort Myers, FL June 14-17.

Atlanta Braves Scout Team Crosses Out X Team 2026

Explosive offense and cohesive defense secured the win for the Atlanta Braves Scout team in the 16U BCS Tournament with a score of 14-6 defeating X Team 2026.

From the start, the Braves offense accelerated, knocking in 5 runs in the first inning. A home run from Daniel Padilla blasted 3 runs to home plate, putting the Braves in a strong position going into the bottom of the first.

“I was just trying to put the ball in play because I had two men in scoring position, and it just came out. He hung a slider and I just crushed it so it was a good little hit,” said Daniel Padilla regarding his home run, “It was early in the game so we weren’t up by a lot yet so it was great for the team.”

Extra hitter Leo Marrero, recognized as the 16U BCS Qualifier MVP, went 4-4 for the Braves with a single, double and 2 runs scored.

“As a team, we are new so it was good to have everyone together,” Marrero said, “Everybody works well.”

Right-handed pitcher Jose Doubront led the team throwing a 84 pitches in 6.2 innings, topping out at 87 mph. The defensive connection was evident between the players with outstanding communication from third baseman Francisco Rodriguez to first baseman Alan Overmyer.

Cash Zirkle showed his versatility throughout the game, tacking on 3 RBI, then taking the mound in relief - allowing no runs at speeds between 80-81 mph.

After winning the BCS Qualifier tournament, the Atlanta Braves Scout Team 2026 are heading to Marietta, Georgia for the 2024 16U PG Southeast Summer Showdown happening June 13-17.

Wahoos National Shows Cohesion and Versatility in 18U BCS Qualifier Win

Strong defense and powerful offense won the 6-2 victory for Wahoos National over Florida Gulf Coast Black 18U.

Though Florida Gulf Coast Black 18U racked up 6 total hits, the Wahoo National defense held them to only 2 total runs - both of them knocked in by Gulf Coast third baseman Bryan Calderon.

Leading Wahoos’s defense was right-handed pitcher Miguel Diaz, who tossed 75 pitches over 5 innings, striking out 3 with low-80s fastballs and mid-70s curveballs.

Coming in relief at the sixth inning for Wahoos National was left-hander Dylan Quinzada, who worked consistently in the mid 80s with his fastball, striking out 1.

Quinzada also played a major role offensively, knocking a total of 3 batters in. First baseman Andrew Sarmiento and third baseman Brayan Martinez also each tacked on an RBI.

Wolforth Throwing Mentorship: Article 68

Are You Fixated on the Wrong Variable? Why Pitch Count Alone Was Never Going to Prevent Arm Injuries   You know a family this happened to. You might be one. They did everything right. They followed the pitch count. They honored the rest days. They tracked innings. They sat him when the chart said sit. They were the parents who spoke up when a coach wanted one more inning in a bracket game. And he got hurt anyway. I've been working with throwers for a long time, and that conversation is the one I have quite often… A parent sitting across from me genuinely bewildered because they followed the rules and the rules did not work. They usually assume they missed something. Most of the time they didn't. They managed exactly what they were told to manage. The problem is that what they were told to manage is one variable out of four.   The Uncomfortable Part First   Throwing...

Starting from a narrow and upright, slightly open base, Greene does a great job of working directly to the point of impact with consistent hard line drive impact to the pull side of the field. He...

Perfect Game Des Moines Elite Scouting Showcase 2026 Indianola. IA Ashley Mears What started off a perfect weather weekend, unfortunately was cut short due to thunderstorms mid-morning on Sunday. In the 18u Division, the Iowa Gold Prospects and the Midwest Speed National Kotzmacher were undefeated. In the 16U Division, 515 Fastpitch Twogood and Iowa Premier Gold- Brower. The tournament featured a ton of solid hitters and pitchers from across the state and Minnesota. Even with the poor weather on Sunday, there was still plenty to see and write about! 18u Division Lexi Adams (2028 Ankeny, IA), a catcher for Iowa Gold Prospects, had a stellar weekend at the plate. Behind the plate, Adams shows strong command of the game and does an excellent job working the zone, using her framing ability to consistently give her pitchers a chance to earn borderline calls. Cole Marquardt (2029, Montgomery, Texas) left no doubt this weekend as he came home with Tournament MVP honors for his work with Banditos 2028 Black. Went 7-10 with a double, a home run, a pair of triples, and the walk off single in the championship game. Projectable left-handed swing with plenty of tools to dream on. Bat to ball was on point all weekend and he had plenty of chances to show off an advanced run tool. Plenty to dream on moving forward. Callen Corley (2028, Houston, Texas) put together a stellar two-way performance for Houston Wildcatters Navy 2028. At the plate, he went 5-10 with a double, triple, and home run, driving in seven runs. Sinks into his lower half well and creates strong angles for leverage. Plenty of power upside remaining in that frame, to go along with the twitch already present. On the mound, Corley went four shutout innings, surrendering just one hit while...

Ryan Jones (2027, Tinley Park, IL) was one of the most productive hitters of the weekend, collecting six hits, including three doubles and a home run, while driving in nine runs. The left-handed hitter consistently got the barrel out front and created hard contact throughout the event. Working from an open setup with high hands, he features a compact swing that allows him to get to the ball quickly. His hand speed stood out and helped him drive the baseball to multiple parts of the field. Jones showed a strong understanding of pitches he could handle and rarely missed opportunities to do damage. The swing remains efficient through the zone and produces carry off the barrel. His combination of consistent contact and extra-base impact made him a key offensive contributor all weekend. Uncommitted  JP Elbert (2027, Dubuque, IA) put together an impressive tournament, finishing with five...
