EMERSON, Ga. – In an all Team Elite championship matchup, Team Elite 18u Prime defeated Team Elite 17u Prime by a score of 11-5.

Team Elite 17u Prime was the home team in the contest and they jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. That score would last through the second inning before Team Elite 18u Prime tied the game in the top of the third. Trenton Parker singled to right field and immediately stole second. Bradley Prince Jr. delivered an RBI double to right to even the score.

Team Elite 17u Prime answered back immediately in the bottom half of the inning. Nasim Nunez singled to lead off the inning, stole second and third, and was driven home by Kameron Guidry to tie the game at two.

18u Prime would go ahead for good in the fourth after an RBI hit by Anthony Angelety and RBI walks by Timothy Martin and Trenton Parker. In the fifth inning, Isaiah Byars would lead off with a single before Parker Meadows drove him in with an opposite field 370-foot home run to left-center field.

The game ended in the top of the sixth inning after both teams agreed to finish due to pitch counts and the bid to Jupiter already in the grasps of the Team Elite program.

“It is an outstanding feeling that we, as a program, get the opportunity to play in the best event in the whole world, basically, which is the Jupiter World Championship,” 18u head coach Brad Bouras said after the game. “It is early in the fall, our pitchers are slightly out of shape, trying to get used to getting their pitch counts up, position players to get their timing back at the plate, position players to get defensive work while just practicing once or twice before this tournament, and we literally saw them get better from Friday through Sunday.”

The MVP of the tournament was Andrew Benefield of Team Elite 18u Prime. The Lousiville commit went an impressive 11-for-17 (.647) with four singles, six doubles, a home run and six RBI.

The Most Valuable Pitcher was Ethan Bowdoin of Team Elite 17u Prime who tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts, three hits, and no walks.
