PG Champions Cup Stage 1 18U Division

PG Champions Cup Stage 1

Pearland, Texas

Oct 11-12, 2025

PEARLAND, TX- It was a perfect weekend for softball out in Pearland last weekend. The weather was right, the competitors were ready, and some great softball was played at each age division. Thirty-two teams converged on the Sports Complex at Shadow Creek Ranch in three age divisions to battle it out to see who the Champions Cup victors would be. Below we highlight some of the top performers and standout players from last weekend’s action.

18U Division

Avery Castaneda (2026, Cleveland, TX) of the Bombers Gold HTX-Castañeda was one of the most dominant pitchers last weekend. She led the tournament with 16.1 innings pitched and led the tournament in ERA and strikeouts. She finished with a strong 0.90 ERA and struck out 20 batters and only walked three. One notable performance on Sunday was her complete game shutout vs. the CyFair Sting where she struck out six and helped herself on offense with a 2 RBI triple. She was an impressive two-way player who showed incredible athleticism and deception with her pitches.

Reagan Rouse (2028, Needville, TX) of the TSF Elite 18U Gold-Juarez was one of the hottest hitters on the weekend. Recording a hit in all but one of their games, she truly proved her consistency in the box and came through big time for her team. This right-handed hitter tallied seven hits in ten at-bats, finishing with a .700 batting average. She battled through at-bats, showing good barrel control and making things happen when her team needed her. TSF Elite 18U Gold-Juarez was one of the top hitting teams in the tournament and Rouse was a big part of that.

Alliah Rodriguez (2028, Friendswood, TX) of the TSF Elite Williams was incredibly effective for her team last weekend. In the leadoff spot, she set the tone for her lineup and was a constant force on the bases. She finished her weekend batting .611 and drew three walks. She did a great job having scrappy at bats, allowing her team to see more pitches. She is an exciting player to watch, as she brings great energy to the field and her competitiveness shows in each at-bat.

Eve Puzon (2028, Bellaire, TX) of the Hustle National 18U was the leading hitter for her team last weekend. She finished the weekend batting .556 and showed her power with three doubles and a triple. This strong right-handed hitter generates some solid barrel whip and has the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Her hands are fast enough to turn on the inside pitch well, yet she has the awareness to go with the outside pitch.

Bella Tacheny (2027, Seabrook, TX) of the TSF Elite Gold Wall 18U put on a showcase of power and consistency last weekend. She got a hit in all but one game, finishing with a .466 batting average. She proved to be an incredible clutch hitter, driving in five runs for her team, including three homeruns and a triple. This right-handed hitter has an athletic stance and swing and generates a good amount of barrel whip. She utilizes her bottom half well and was definitely seeing the ball well.

Kylie Sazera (2026, Sargent, TX) of the TSF Elite 18U Gold-Juarez had an impressive weekend with her squad in the Champions Cup. Defensively, this short stop impressed with her smooth glove, quick first steps, and her canon for an arm. Offensively, she showed great consistency in the box, finishing the weekend batting .500. This right-handed hitter showed her ability to pop extra base hits, tallying two doubles and two triples on the weekend.

Keilee Brown (2027, Kingwood, TX) of the Texas Glory 18U HTX may have only played on Saturday at the tournament, but she left her mark. She hit an incredible .900 on the day in their four games. She has a powerful barrel and her results were proof. She tallied two doubles, two triples, and two homeruns. She also stole three bases for her team and drove in three runs. In the leadoff spot, she set the tone for her team to go undefeated on the day and was impressive to watch.

Madison Cox (2027, New Caney, TX) of the Texas Glory 18U HTX had an incredible weekend at the plate. She finished her tournament hitting .684 racking up 13 hits. She drove in six runs for her squad and was an extra base hit machine. She tallied five doubles, a triple, and a homerun.

Ariana Martinez (2027, Pearland, TX) of the TSF Elite Gold Wall 18U was on FIRE last weekend. She finished the weekend going 8-15, batting .533. She drove three triples on the weekend and came in clutch for her squad with eight RBI’s. She did a phenomenal job with her contact points, showing the ability to drive the ball to all fields and hit it where it is pitched. She is built strong and has massive power and pop in her barrel.

Some other players to note from last weekend…

Adrianna Hernandez (2026, Brazoria, TX) of the TSF Elite 18U Gold-Juarez had an incredible offensive weekend. This committed senior finished the tournament batting .461 and tallying seven RBIs for her team.

Jazlynn Wimbush (2027, Houston, TX) of the TSF Elite Williams had a strong weekend at the plate. She finished the tournament with a .466 batting average and the highlight would be her three doubles in one game. She tallied four RBI’s for her squad and scored twice.

Aubrey Ramirez (2026, Katy, TX) of the TSF Elite 18U Gold-Juarez had a solid weekend at the plate. This committed senior finished her weekend batting .400 and knocking in four runs for her squad. She showed some power, belting two doubles and a triple as well.

Fabianna Marcano (2026, Spring, TX) of the CyFair Sting 18U batted .455 on the weekend with a triple. She led the team with hits and drove in two RBI’s.

DEEP SOUTH REGION (AL, LA, MS, TN) The Deep South Region is absolutely loaded with position talent and would certainly have a chance to outscore any of the other Regions in a straight offensive battle.  And this trend doesn’t look like it’s going to change soon looking at the 2027 and 2028 classes for the Region. All the starting lineup, for instance, is made up of Perfect Game All-Americans if you excuse the recently re-classified Will Brick.  That leaves a pair of Louisiana All-Americans, Miller Sheets and Braylon Montgomery, out of the starting lineup.  Also missing is another re-classified player, Alabama shortstop Rocco Maniscalco, who has been talked about as a potential Day One draft in 2026. A strange twist in the Region is that it is abnormally well supplied with catchers, more so than any other region in the country really.  Nowhere does that...

The 2026 class is one of the best in recent memory for the state of California, with 18 players ranking among the top 100 in the Perfect Game national rankings.  Three PG All-Americans, IF Trey Ebel, OF Isaiah Hearn and RHP Logan Georges were all edged out of places on the California All-Region Team as a result.  And although the 2027 class doesn’t look as deep, it does feature three Top Six players in SS Dylan Seward, LHP Jared Grindlinger and SS Carter Hadnot. Not surprisingly, California high schools are very well represented in the Perfect Game Pre-Season Top 50 rankings, particularly with 2025 Trinity League champion St. John Bosco beginning the season as the top ranked team in the country.  A very deep Orange Lutheran squad holds down the third spot in the rankings, with 12th ranked De La Salle being the top team from Northern California.  Corona (17th),...

PG Draft: Mid-Major Picks to Click

Tyler Henninger

While Power 4 prospects tend to soak up the bulk of the industry buzz, there’s plenty of legitimate talent lurking at the mid-major level. These are competitive programs that are loaded with players who have real tools, physicality, and performance track records that translate beyond their conference. Below are nine mid-major prospects we expect evaluators to be in early and often on this spring. Ethan Norby, LHP, East Carolina (Rank: 155) Norby is an undersized left-hander, but has produced strong numbers over two years at ECU. The left-hander has produced a 3.80 ERA with 182 strikeouts over 149 1/3 innings. While the velocity does not stand out, Norby can still miss bats with the heater. It works in the low-90’s and creeps towards 95 mph at times. Quality extension for his size and high spin allow that offering to get on hitters, resulting in weak contact as well as whiffs....
