Gage Blankenship (2028, Lucas, Texas) has a lot of the puzzle pieces in place when it comes to what you look for in a high level pitching prospect. For starters the young right hander has the things you can’t teach with a long athletic build at 6-foot-4 and 180-pounds. To go with it this week was proof of the hard work Blankenship has been putting in as he reached a new velocity personal best jumping up to 87 mph after a previous best of 83 mph. He was very economical in his three plus innings of work throwing just 49 pitches as he allowed two hits and one walk while allowing no runs and striking out three. Blankenship paired his fastball that sat 82-85 mph with a low 70’s breaking ball with 12-6 shape that he can use in a way to set up
