For the fifth year in a row, the 14u WWBA World Championship rolls into West Palm Beach, Florida, following last weekend’s craziness which saw both the WWBA Freshman and WWBA World Championships take place across the locations being used once again this weekend. Unfolding at the same time throughout the same complexes around the area will also be the 13u WWBA World Championship, in its third year, which will see plenty of talented players take that jump from the 12u fields to the 60-90 diamonds.

This year is an important one to a degree, if not only to break the tie between the East and West Coasts as the prior four champions: 2019: Florida Hurricanes 2024 Platinum (FL), 2020: Canes 2025 National (VA), 2021: USA Prime National (TX) and 2022: ZT Prospects National (CA) have the series split at two wins a piece.

Just as we’ve seen in year’s past, hoisting the trophy on Championship Monday will be no easy task as more than 50 teams will descend upon WPB in search of the title. Littered throughout the rosters are 36 Perfect Game Select Festival alum, whether from this past year’s 13u game or years prior, and it’s safe to say it’s a number that’ll only continue to grow as we roll from the fall and into the summer where players are sure to make a jump. Of the players in attendance, 15 of the top 20 will look to show why they are ranked as high as they are, including No. 2 Ethan Torres, No. 3 Luke Esquivel, No. 4 Dru Wilson, No. 6 Ethan Stewart, No. 7 Yariel “Lito” Diaz, No. 8 Bryan Mesa and No. 10 Zach Estrada

Alongside the 14u tournament, several players at the 13u level have already made a name for themselves on the national circuit, including two-time Select Festival Kannon Derry, while others are very much going to use the spotlight to their advantage to show what they can do on the diamond. And just like the older division, the first two years have seen a split amongst East and West with the champion (2021: USA Prime National 13U (TX), 2022: Padres 13u Scout Team (NC)), meaning this year’s winner will give some bragging rights to their coast.
