SEC Trio Pace Canes Early On

Connor Langdon is the No. 5-ranked left-handed pitcher in the country for the class of 2026. The Mississippi State commit started on the mound Friday morning for the Canes Southeast Scout 15u team. Langdon had a great performance pitching four innings, striking out four batters, and allowing no hits.

“I thought it was great. Connor threw the ball really well,” Canes coach Danny Tillery said after yesterdays win. “He's been working really hard on being efficient and he was very efficient today and I was proud of him.”



On the rubber Langdon’s fastball topped out at 90 mph and his average sat right around 86 mph.


Langdon, committed to play college baseball, has already achieved so much as a young player. In March of 2023, Langdon was named by Rawlings and Perfect Game to the High Honorable mention list for the Underclassmen Preseason All-American Teams.

“(Connor) just needs to continue to work,” coach Tillery said. “He's a hard worker and he will keep working on getting ahead of batters and throwing strikes.”

Alongside Langdon, the Canes 15u group has a handful of other college commits who have had success so far this tournament.

In yesterday's game Hudson Reed, a University of Georgia commit, stepped up to the plate in the top of the sixth and nailed a grand slam over the trees. Reed’s grand slam put the team up 11-2 against the 6-4-3 Dp 15u Panthers.

 
Similar to Reed, Ty Tillery, another University of Georgia commit, had a great game Friday. In Tillery’s first at bat of the game, he doubled on a ground ball to left center, putting himself in scoring position. He then stepped up to bat again and drilled a line drive triple to the left side, scoring, Ty Mobley.
 

“Those guys play with good energy and they brought it again today. I was proud of them,” coach Tillery said. “That was obviously a bomb over the top of the trees (from Hudson). They are a lot of fun to coach and a lot of fun to watch.”

The Canes after a 13-1 win Thursday and the 12-2 win Friday, now get ready to face 5 Star West 15u later tonight and then prepare for bracket play starting on Sunday, June 4.

“I hope we do the same (today) and then as we roll into bracket and bring out some of these other arms, that we continue on,” Tillery said. “Obviously, we will see some different pitching as we get into bracket, so we got to keep swinging it.”
