Cade Cosper (2023, Carrollton, Ga.) was simply unhittable during his bracket play start Sunday morning in Marietta, Georgia. The 6-foot, 150-pound hard throwing primary right-handed pitcher worked the necessary 5 innings in Canes Southeast 18u Scout’s mercy-rule victory, with a no-hitter while striking out seven. On the mound, Cosper deploys a slow tempo to his full windup where he does a nice job hiding his throwing arm in back, before releasing from a three-quarter slot. Rotating around a stiff front leg, Cosper does work over his front side, which gives him the ability to fill the bottom half of the zone with his mix. To work through his assignment, Cade showcased a fastball up to 90 mph with run through the zone and plenty of life, and a curveball with depth and downer bite in the mid- to high-70s. With plenty of noticeable confidence on the mound, Cosper went right at his opponent, remaining perfect until the start of his final frame, while working ahead of 93% of the hitters he faced, often filling the zone on 0-0, while he kept his foot on the gas all outing long.
