Twenty teams from the Midwest competed in Perfect Game Softball’s 16U Division Scouting Showcase at City Park in Iowa City, Iowa. Fifty games total were played between these teams, each challenged to five opponents. Expos 08, Southeast IA Allstars 16U Gold - Hall, and Southeast IA Allstars 16U Gold - Jones all went undefeated, highlighting several of our top performers for the weekend.

Expos 08 went 5-0 on the weekend, outscoring their opponents 52-19. Julia Roth (2026, Dubuque, Iowa) of Expos 08 was ranked No. 1 as a top performer offensively at the plate. This freshman from Wahlert High School produces plus pop for power as shown in her nine hits, including four home runs. Roth is a disciplined player at the plate, knowing which pitch to jump on, having walked three times. This slugger has a consistent bat with a great feel for the barrel. Roth racked up nine runs, pushing in 11 more for Expos 08. In the circle, Roth was just as impressive, pumping in 56-58 mph through seven innings. This RHP sat down 12 batters, allowing only three walks.

Kylie Sieverding (2026, Dubuque, Iowa), teammate for Expos 08, was right behind her, finishing with a .818 batting average. Sieverding has an elite cut, reliable and powerful. This right-handed hitter knocked in five runs, crossing the pay stations eight times. Just as disciplined, Sieverding walked four times, making her zone awareness above average. On base, Sieverding stole three bags, helping to put herself in scoring position.

Lily Coil (2025, Columbus Junction, Iowa) is among the best in this series, representing Monsters 16U – Coil. Coil has an overall PG grade of 8.5 as a RHP and hitter. This 5-foot-6 hurler was tossing in 56-58 mph. Coil works both sides of the plate well, with a four-plus pitch mix, she shutdown 12 batters, allowing only three hits in seven innings. At the plate, Coil has an aggressive approach. This strong left-handed batter has a smooth operation with a short path to the ball, producing plus power. Coil earned a .875 average in the box, smacking out seven hits. Coil has above-average speed stealing six bases, aggressive in getting herself in position to score. Coil did just that, crossing the plate nine times.

Addison Gralund (2025, Marion, Iowa) is a 2025 RHP from Linn-Mar High School. This rising star earned herself a spot on the top of the performers list in the circle as a RHP. Gralund has plus pitchability, working all quadrants, each pitch with solid spin and movement. Gralund capitalizes on her curveball that shows a strong, late cut with great horizontal movement. She worked through eight innings, allowing only one hit and walk. With her elite ability to command and control the zone, she struck out 13 opponents. Gralund has a great future in the game.

Saydee Plummer (2024, Burlington, Iowa) is a junior RHP from Burlington High School. Plummer has a four-pitch repertoire with huge potential. Working through a 50-58 mph spins, Plummer generates elite movement in all four pitches in each area of the zone. Her screwball has tight spin that cuts inside on a right-handed batter. Her curve is just as effective on the outside. Most impressive is her vertical movement both in her drop and rise, each with massive jump, producing tons of swing-and-miss action. All of this was shown in her 7 innings in the circle, striking out a whopping 16 batters, allowing only four hits and two walks. Plummer earned a .86 WHIP on the weekend.

Moore sports complex. The weather was perfect, and the atmosphere was right for some great softball. Another week, another big tournament makes its way to Hoover. This week, 104 of the nation’s top 17U teams will make their way to Hoover for the 2026 Perfect Game 17U National Elite Championship. Featuring nationally ranked teams, Division I commits, and many of the country’s top 2027 players, the tournament promises another week of elite competition as teams battle for one of the biggest championships of the summer. Chicago White Sox | Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA It’s between Roch and Grady Emerson at this pick, though there have been heavy rumors of a very late deal potentially with another top 5 pick. Cape Cod League Scouting Notebook Maverick Rizy | Ole Miss | RHP | Brewster Whitecaps The towering 6-foot-9, 250-pound right-hander continues to stand out with one of the more unique looks on the Cape, pairing a massive frame with a low three-quarter slot that creates difficult angles for hitters. While his fastball velocity was down from its typical mid-90s range during this look, working mostly 90-92 mph, it still generated plenty of swing-and-miss. He paired the heater with an 81-83 mph gyro slider featuring tight bullet-spin action and mixed in an 85-mph changeup with quality separation. Rizy battled his command early in the outing I saw, before settling in to strike out five over three innings, showing the ability to adjust as the game progressed. The final update features several notable movers, including a handful of late risers who made one final push up the board. While there was movement throughout the board, the top remains unchanged. 13U National Kicks Off in Fort Myers

This Friday through Sunday, many of the nation’s top young prospects from the classes of 2030 and 2031 will head to Fort Myers, Florida, as the 2026 PG 13U National Showcase gets underway at JetBlue Park. The invitation-only event features some of the brightest young stars in the country as they look to make their way onto the national stage.
