Hunter McLemore (2024, Henderson, Tenn.) is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound, primary right-handed pitcher and left side of the infield contributor, and it was his bat that shined in Hoover this week. Over Wow Factor National 15u’s five-game slate, Hunter hit .533 with eight hits, 13 total bases including a triple, six runs scored, seven RBI, and a stolen base. At the plate, Hunter looks the part and deploys an open stance with hands low outside his chest. With a quiet step to square, Hunter turns things loose with twitch, hand-eye coordination, and a short bat path that makes hard contact with pitches in the zone he can drive. Seen time and again this week in Alabama, if a pitcher left an offering over the plate, McLemore punished him with line drive contact with carry to either gap, which helped him regularly reach base, but also produce extra-base hit contact, often driving in runs, helping his club along the way. A good athlete, McLemore displayed sound defensive actions, and featured his strong arm we saw on the mound earlier this week, across the diamond with strong, accurate throws with carry. Currently sitting just outside the top-250 right-handed pitchers in the class, McLemore is having a great year at Perfect Game events as he has 22 punchouts over 13 1/3 innings of work, as well as hitting a ridiculous .435 over a solid ten game sample, an impressive feat.
