14U City of Palms Championship

After a tie earlier in the weekend, B.I.D National and Burn Scout Team 2026 faced off once more in the 14u championship game.



A winner was crowned this time around, but certainly came in dramatic fashion following a thrilling 4-3 victory for Burn.

After a three-run first inning, including a leadoff double from Spencer Adams and RBI triple from Carter Cox, it appeared that Burn was going to run away with it. But B.I.D worked their way back from down three runs, notching a run in three of the next four innings to tie it up going into the bottom of the sixth.

That tying run came after Jonathan Paniagua, who singled down the left field line with one out. Jeuri La Rosa came in as a pinch runner for Paniagua on first, and after a single by Rodney Chung and then a walk from Diego Rojas, La Rosa found himself on third with two outs.

With a full count, Angel Rodriguez sent a liner up the middle to drive in La Rosa as the tying run.

But Burn responded in a big way in the bottom of the sixth. Anthony Kanellos started it off with a four-pitch walk, and a sacrifice bunt executed to perfection by Stuart Engel advanced Kanellos to second with one out.

Gus Fusco drove in Kanellos in the very next at-bat after a double to center field, to give Burn the 4-3 edge.

Ethan Dejesus, who took things over on the mound in the fourth, continued into the seventh to close the final three outs.

Burn went 5-0-1 over the weekend en route to their championship victory.

Dylan Messina was named MVP for Burn, as he hit .529 on the weekend with 9 RBI. B.I.D.'s Santiago Baptista won MV-Pitcher honors for his 12 strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings.



15U City of Palms Championship

A three-run seventh inning deficit capped off by a walkoff single was how the 15U championship game concluded between SWFL Elite Platinum and SWFL 2025, with SWFL 2025 going home as the happy bunch.

The 7-6 game certainly lived up to the expectations by staying close throughout, along with both starting pitchers giving their best stuff.

Brody Ryan got the call on the mound for SWFL 2025, pitching 4 2/3 innings while striking out two and allowing five runs, while Raymond Cooper started for SWFL Elite, dealing 96 pitches and giving up three earned runs over his 5 2⁄3 innings.

Both teams brought across runs in the first frame, and after four innings, SWFL 2025 had the slim 3-2 lead.

But that slim lead would quickly evaporate, as SWFL Elite proceeded to have a four-run outpour in the top of the fifth inning to take a 6-3 lead.

Half of those four runs came courtesy of a two-run single from Landon Davidson to bring home Kayden Davidson and Cooper.

With the rally caps in full effect down 6-3 entering the bottom of the seventh, Josh Morgan started things off with a leadoff single. Morgan made his way to third after a walk the next at-bat, followed by a fielder’s choice.

Braden Tyson stepped up to bat with runners on second and third with one out, and his single up the middle was all that was needed to drive in Morgan. With two runners on and one out, Michael Peterson stepped up to bat with an opportunity to tie the game, and his two-run triple to left field was exactly what the doctor ordered.

All SWFL 2025 needed to do was put the ball in play to drive in Peterson and walk things off in dramatic fashion, and Jonathan Kacinas first hit of the ballgame could not have come at a better time.

Peterson was named MVP of the tournament for SWFL 2025, hitting .467 with five runs scored. Alex Paxton was given MV-Pitcher honors, as he tossed 9 1/3 scoreless innings on the weekend.



16U City of Palms Championship

A 6-0 stretch, including three wins on Sunday alone, capped off a first place finish for TBT Swarm Southeast Red in 16U.

The sixth and final game for TBT was a 5-1 victory over Florida Burn in the championship game.

Ryan Winkler started and pitched all four innings for TBT before the game was put on a lightning delay in the top of the fifth and eventually got called.

Winkler allowed one run and four hits over his four innings and the mound, while also striking out four.

The TBT offense fell behind early as Burn drove in a run during the first inning, but a big third inning propelled them to take the lead.

A one-out RBI double from Connor Vance ignited what would be a four-run inning for the TBT offense that was held scoreless up to that point.

The very next at-bat, Scout Simpson needed just two pitches to drive in Vance from second base, and a few batters later Simpson made his way home after a Bryce Vance single up the middle.

Winkler was dialed in on the mound following his team taking the lead, striking out back-to-back batters in the bottom of the fourth to hold onto the four-run lead.

Ian Barnes was named MVP for TBT Swarm, hitting .600 for the weekend with 11 RBI. TBT Swarm's Joseph Fritz was named MV-Pitcher for his five hitless innings on the mound.



17U City of Palms Championship

L.O.L. Blaze Baseball wrapped up a dominant City of Palms tournament with a 6-1 victory over Victus Elite in the 17U championship game.

Carson Jackson got the start for Blaze, pitching all three innings for his club before lightning canceled the rest of the game. Jackson allowed five hits and struck out three during his time on the mound.

While the Victus offense got on the scoreboard first in the opening inning, Blaze did not lose focus.

Bradon Durfee led off the second with a triple and eventually made his way home with two outs to tie things up.

They followed that up with a five-run third inning, as Dylan Makowski began the frame with a double to center field to get on base, and a perfectly executed bunt from Ean Gimson got him on base as well.

Makowski scored a few batters later off a wild pitch, but the biggest impact came from Durfee, who sent a three-run home run to left-center field to extend the lead.

Scoring runs in bunches was a theme all weekend long for Blaze, who outscored their opponents 73-3 over their six games to walk away with the 17U title.

Durfee was handed MVP honors for his work, while Logan Baisley won MV-Pitcher for his 10 strikeouts over 6 innings.



18U City of Palms Championship

A four-run fourth inning propelled SWFL 18U to defeat Tampa Storm in the 18U championship game.

Left-handed pitcher and FAU commit Emilio Gonzalez got the start on the mound for SWFL, where he dealt four innings while allowing just two hits and striking out six batters.

A four-pitch walk from Flagler College commit Kevin Martinez kicked off that big fourth inning for SWFL. After Martinez reached base, both Mason Blackburn and Danny DiNorcia followed suit, both singling in their at-bats to load the bases.

Martinez made his way home following a fielder’s choice, but most of the damage came after Giancarlo Digiacomo sent a single up the middle to drive in Blackburn and Dianorcia.

Digiacomo made his way home after another single, but this time from Frankie Messina to end the barrage of fourth inning runs.

SWFL tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth to extend their lead a bit more, and while the Storm did inch a bit closer with two of their own, Blackburn closed things out in the bottom of the seventh to solidify the victory.

Digiacomo won MVP honors, and the MV-Pitcher nod went to Tyler Fritsch for his seven-inning, 11-strikeout performance.

Perfect Game Softball Battle for the Belt April 18-19, 2026 Des Moines, Iowa It was a cold and very windy weekend, but the girls still came out and put in their best efforts. If you wanted the place to see some of the state’s top talent, this was the tournament to be at. The 18u division was quite the slugfest! The Ankeny Centennial 18U -Kennedy team took down a tough Iowa Alliance Select-Benge team in the championship. Both teams had double digit homeruns on the weekend. April 21st Perfect Game/Player of the Week:  Tague Davis, IF, Louisville  The Louisville Cardinals (22-18) haven’t been able to get themselves in much of a groove this spring, their longest winning streak is 5-games, and they are (4-6) in their last 10-games.  The issue has not been the offense as the Cardinals are averaging over 8-runs per game and Tague Davis is leading the club in virtually every offensive category.  His calling card is his 70-grade power and that was on display last weekend in their series against Cal.  In the three-game series, Davis went 7 for 12, scoring 4 runs, launching 5 home runs and collected 7 RBIs.  The 6-4/220 lefthanded hitter from West Chester, PA has a pure stroke, is one of the premier power hitters in the nation and has significantly improved his plate discipline from a year ago.  After his big weekend, he is...
