CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Perfect Game, the world’s largest youth baseball and softball platform and scouting service, and La Agencia, the Dominican American owned player representative agency, today announced the formation of a strategic alliance dedicated to improving the playing and scouting opportunities for Latin America’s youth baseball players.

Perfect Game and La Agencia will work together to plan and host youth baseball showcases, modeled after the best-in-class events Perfect Game hosts across North America and in other parts of the world. The showcases will be designed to provide a safe and competitive environment that will ensure participating players and their families an even playing field on which to improve and advance their athletic skills.

Joel Araujo, Founder and President of La Agencia has been involved in the international baseball landscape for well over a decade. He previously established Major League Baseball’s prospect leagues and showcases in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Nicaragua, Curacao, and South Africa. Those showcases previewed some of MLBs biggest international stars while they were still amateur teenagers.

Additionally, Perfect Game will launch a web-based scouting and ranking portal for participating athletes that for the first time will provide Latin American players and coaches with a reliable platform from which they can compare their skill sets to those of players from other countries.

“We’re confident that Joel Araujo and his team at La Agencia will help Perfect Game provide an improved, safe and competitive environment for elite baseball players throughout Latin America,” stated Perfect Game Vice President, International Development, Ben Ford. “Perfect Game looks forward to providing the best young Latin ballplayers with a state-of-the-art platform that will allow them to pursue their baseball playing dreams to their fullest potential. As part of this alliance, we’re also excited to launch a digital scouting platform for Latin American players that could open previously closed doors to these players, including those that lead to U.S. college scholarship opportunities.”

Added Araujo: “Understanding the challenges young amateur international baseball players endure to advance their careers, La Agencia is proud to have found a partner in Perfect Game that is committed to providing them exposure to both college and professional evaluators. Perfect Game’s ability to deliver high-end showcase events and trusted player evaluations will provide even more opportunity to international players striving to advance their career and education. We are excited to be a resource for young men and women and their families as they pursue their dreams.”

Perfect Game and La Agencia will roll-out their Latin America showcases in Columbia, between June 23-25, followed by the Dominican Republic, June 27-29. Future showcases will be held in Venezuela, Curacao, and Aruba, before expanding to other Latin America countries.
