What an Opening Weekend we had across the college baseball landscape. With the dust settled, we look back at how our Top 25 fared as for the second year in a row there’s a new No. 1 team in the land following Opening Weekend. Texas takes over in the No. 1 spot after taking care of business against in-state rival Rice, while Vanderbilt falls to No. 5 after losing their home opener to Oklahoma State. Stanford follows at No. 2 while LSU comes in at No. 3 and the Pokes ascend all the way up to No. 4 after downing the Commodores.

Notre Dame comes in at No. 6 following a 2-1 weekend, while North Carolina State, TCU, Arkansas, and Ole Miss fill out the rest of the top-10. Long Beach State makes the biggest climb of the week as they come in at No. 13 after they took two-of-three from Mississippi State, who fell to No. 15, on the road. Liberty is next in that department following their road win against Florida, as the Flames jump all the way to No. 15.

Three new teams join the Top 25 in No. 20 Oregon State, No. 22 San Diego, and No. 23 Louisiana Tech. The Beavers had a massively impressive opening weekend, winning all four games out in Surprise by beating Gonzaga and New Mexico twice. The Toreros took all three games from Oregon over the weekend and have a fourth scheduled for Monday. Louisiana Tech opened at home to sweep Wichita State, coming off a season where they hosted a Regional. East Carolina and UC Irvine hang on at the end of the rankings after the Pirates were swept by Bryant and the Anteaters lost two-of-three on the road at Louisiana.

We’ll have more content throughout the week with Players of the Week coming out on Tuesday. We’ll also have hitter reports and Team Sheets from our live looks over the weekend that will be coming out toward the end of the week. Looking forward to the first full week of college baseball and another great weekend slate coming up.
