The Leesburg Lightning finished the regular season with an 18-11 record and continued their strong season into the postseason, claiming the league championship. The Lightning wreaked havoc on the basepaths, leading the league by a large margin with 88. They also led the league in ERA with a 3.24, nearly a half point better than the next closest. The staff was led by the league’s Cy Young award winner Gerry Kelly, as well as the Reliever of the Year Zachary Henderson (Valdosta State). The league is full of young talent with names of future draftees like Sterlin Thompson and Josh Pearson, as well as several others who will make an impact in the near future at their respective schools.
