Another solid outing for uncommitted Matt Queen (2023, New York, N.Y.), who once again proved to coaches at the next level that he can be a factor to any squad by posting a light 12 strikeouts and no runs allowed through 6 innings. Queen certainly controls the speed of the game, taking his time in between pitches to analyze the at-bat and mix pitches effectively. The arsenal consists of a fastball that sits 84-87 and tops 88 mph with an 11-5 shaped curve that he commands well and isn’t afraid to double up on, featuring some late bite to it. An addition of a changeup to the bag of tricks for Queen could be lethal in the future.
