14u, 16u Northeast World Series Scout Notes: Days 1-3

Pitt commit Sam Falace (2022, Niskayuna, N.Y.) was lights-out during his start Monday morning. Tossed six innings of shutout ball while only surrendering one hit, carrying a no-hitter into the fifth inning. Advanced pitchability, Falace commanded the zone with a fastball-curveball combo, missing barrels and generating soft contact all game. Punching out 11 over his five innings, Falace showed tons of confidence with his curveball, throwing it for strikes in various counts. Pitching backwards, starting hitters off with his sweeping curveball, Falace’s fastball worked 83-86 and appeared harder as he threw it off his curveball. Peppering both sides of the plate, not afraid to work inside on hitters, Falace’s three-quarter arm slot was deceptive and created a tough at-bat for hitters.
