Day 1

Isaiah Landry (2023, El Cerrito, Calif.) had two strong games to start the tournament and shows the speed to be a top-of-the-order threat as he continues to mature. During the first game, Landry started up the offense getting a first-pitch fastball and driving it into the left-center gap, letting Landry cruise in for a standup triple. Early in counts, Landry looks for the fastball and is aggressive in his zone with the bat speed to find hits. In game two, Landry picked up two more hits driving a ball through the six-hole and beating out another hard grounder that way when the shortstop made a diving play. The speed down the line (4.36 home-to-first) and on the bases is plus and shows up with ease for Landry.
