MARIETTA, Ga. -- The 19th annual 17u WWBA Championship commences on July 6 and runs through July 13, centered at Perfect Game’s TOP Chops East Cobb Complex and its surrounding ballparks in the Atlanta vicinity. This championship marks the height of Perfect Game’s 17u age group summer calendar and draws the most talented teams our country has to offer.

408 total teams from 32 different states will participate in the eight-day, seven-game guaranteed event, as will select teams from Puerto Rico and Ontario, Canada. Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Pennsylvania are among the most represented states of the weekend, closely followed by North Carolina, Alabama, and Maryland.

Plainly put, this tournament will showcase the vast majority of rising prospects that the 2022 class has to offer. Perfect Game will see 38 of the country’s top-50 players present, along with a slew of players in the top-500 and top-1000. As one of the summer’s premier contests, competition levels will be at an all-season high.

Elijah Greene (Miami commit), the nation's No. 1 overall player, will take the field for FTB/Phillies Scout Team, as will the third-ranked player Andruw Jones (Vanderbilt commit). Dylan Lesko (Vanderbilt commit) and Termarr Johnson round out the tournament’s top four players, and both will suit up for the East Cobb Astros.

Canes National, who won the WWBA Championship in 2019, are again among the favorites to take home the title. The Canes possess six of the top-20 ranked prospects this weekend, a standard that the baseball world has come to expect. Headlining their players are Jackson Ferris (University of Mississippi commit), Brock Porter (Clemson commit) and Ian Ritchie Jr. (UCLA commit).

The Dallas Tigers’ Jayson Jones (Arkansas commit), Team Elite Scout Team’s Nolan Schubart (Michigan commit) and CBU Scout Team’s Brandon Barriera (Vanderbilt commit), cap the top-10 players at the tournament.

Other teams with prominent representation in the field’s top ranks include the Cangelosi Sparks, Georgia Bombers, 5 Star National Black, South Charlotte Panthers, Banditos Scout Team, Scorpions/Giants Scout Team, San Diego Show and 3n2 Sticks Baseball.

To date, the 17u WWBA Championship is not only the largest single age division tournament of the calendar year but is also the largest Perfect Game core event of the 2021 summer. Naturally, this level of talent cultivates one of, if not the most coveted crowns that youth amateur baseball has to offer.

Competition, performance and determination will all be on full display in Atlanta, and the ultimate winners will be forced to prove themselves against the nation’s best.

Pool play for all rostered teams begins as early as 8:00 AM on Tuesday morning and extends through Sunday afternoon. The first round of playoffs also starts on Sunday afternoon, and later-round playoff matchups and quarterfinals extend through Monday. The semifinal and championship games will take place on Tuesday afternoon, all three of which will be played at the East Cobb Complex.
