HS Rankings Update: June 9

As we continue to wind down in some of the final states still rolling with high school play, the changes to the rankings have also begun to slow. We’ve got some slight shuffling around the top-10 as Madison Central (Miss.) got the job done and took home the state championship in Mississippi, which propels them up to No. 4 this week. JSerra (Calif.) also moves up a spot as they move forward through the difficult Southern Section playoffs in California, while Baylor (Tenn.) moves up a spot as a result of Friendswood exiting the top-10, and Rockwall-Heath (Texas) enters the top-10 for the first time as they reached the state semifinals in Texas.

Minimal movement through the middle of the rankings as Trinity (Ky.) moves up a few spots to No. 19 after a couple good playoff wins while Buchanan’s (Calif.) quest for a state title begins today in California and they’re up to No. 26. Some shakeup in the Northeast moves St. Joseph’s (N.J.) up to No. 33 after Bishop Eustace (N.J.) suffered their first loss of the year, while both Harvard Westlake (Calif.) and Keller (Texas) move up as they’re still alive in their state playoffs.

Toward the back end, Marist (Ill.) makes a nice jump up to No. 44 as they continue to put together quality wins, while two familiar faces join the rankings in Reagan (N.C.) at No. 45 and Walsh Jesuit (Oh.) at No. 50. Only a couple weeks left of rankings updates before the state players of the year, final Top 50 and National Champion is crowned, so be sure to stay tuned in on twitter for updates (@TRussoPG & @Colt_PG) on an official date for the release of those.
