Connor Beech (2024, Roswell, Ga.) is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed pitcher and outfielder for Roswell Hornets 14u. Beech did a little of everything this weekend for the Hornets as he hit .667 over the three-game slate and pitched three innings in relief on Sunday morning during the Gold Quarterfinals. At the plate, Beech, who hits in the middle of the Hornets lineup, stays short to the ball, and made hard-hit, line drive contact to the gap time and again this weekend. Connor has good hand-eye coordination and barrel control that helped him reach base in all three of his club’s games. Not only did Connor get on base two-thirds of the time, but he also recorded three consecutive multi-RBI games, ending the tournament Sunday with seven for the weekend. On the mound, Beech uses his large, lanky frame to get into his legs, and really drive down the mound. He has a clean, unrestricted arm action that creates plenty of extension out front adding velocity and life to his fastball. In relief on Sunday morning during bracket play, Beech entered a 7-0 game with his team trailing and stopped the bleeding, pitching the last three innings where he struck out five while only allowing two hits. Beech used a fastball in the upper-70s, high of 78, and a curveball in the low-60s, to generate swing-and-miss and soft contact from his opponent.
