Tristan Nguyen (2022, Gainesville, GA) continued his ways of filling up the strike zone with a fastball and curveball. As he has been all summer and fall, Nguyen sat in the upper-80s with his fastball and flashed a curveball in the mid-70s with late action to it. His fastball has a lot of life to it on its ride to the plate and through the zone. There was very little solid contact off Nguyen’s pitches as he pitched to both halves of the plate effectively with some deception from his delivery. His arm action is pretty long through the back with some quickness to the arm path and a pretty tough angle at the point of his release. The ball comes from an extended three-quarters slot creating that life to his heater. The fastball peaked at 89 mph in the first and settled into a range of 84-88 throughout his outing.
