James Tibbs III (2021 Marietta, Ga.) has had an impressive summer, especially in the box. The Florida State commit has done nothing but hit, which has resulted in him raising his draft stock in a big way. The left-handed hitter has a knack for finding the barrel and proves he can leverage the baseball deep for power. During today’s playoffs, he started the quarterfinals out with a loud at bat as he singled up the middle while knocking in a couple of runs for the East Cobb Yankees. Tibbs hit a casual .500 on the weekend and had an OPS just under 2.00. He also plays a more than serviceable outfield position showing great instincts as he took efficient routes to the baseball. Make no mistake, the bat is what will have him in draft talks. It will be interesting to see how he progresses leading up to the draft next year.
