South Qualifier Scout Notes: Day 1

Ryan Verdugo (2021, South El Monte, CA) started on the mound for ZT-Elite Ibarra. Showing a clean operation on the mound, Verdugo was 83-87 mph on the day with his fastball. Verdugo pounded the zone with strikes as his strike percentage on the day was 70 percent. Verdugo threw a complete game, giving up three hits, no runs, struck out 11 and walked one batter. Verdugo has a lot to offer and his skillset on the mound will play well at the next level.
