18u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 & 2

Derek (DJ) Radtke (2021, Marietta, Ga.) is an Auburn commit who  has been on the Perfect Game scouting radar for a couple years now playing with the East Cobb Astros and living right in the back yard of PG’s Georgia Headquarters. Radtke took the mound in his first outing as a draft-eligible arm and several professional scouts made their way out to East Cobb Field 2 to see the righthander pitch. Radtke opened up the game sitting 86-89 mph from a loose arm action getting out in front and working around the zone. Radtke mixed three pitches in his repertoire including a fastball up to 89 mph as mentioned, a slider that is his second best pitch with depth and sweeping action, and a slow changeup with some deception to it. Radtke dominated in this outing striking out nine hitters in six innings of work.
