MARIETTA, Ga. – 643 DP Bishop and eXposure 15U Prime met for the 2020 Perfect Game 15U Summer Shootout tournament championship on Thursday night. With 643 DP Bishop being the one seed after pool play and eXposure 15U Prime being awarded the two seed, it was no surprise that these two teams were set to battle it out for the crown of tournament champion. The team went 3-0 in their pool play games finishing with 28 runs scored and only four runs allowed. It was an eventful semifinal game vs Georgia Bombers 15U Coleman, but they were able to come out with a win by a score of 4-3 after a spectacular play in right field by 2022 grad, Maxwell Morey, in the top of the seventh inning.

eXposure 15U Prime also posted a 3-0 record after pool play with a shutout win. The team won their quarterfinal game by 10 runs and easily handled the TG Dbacks 15u National in the semifinal game. eXposure Prime finished pool play with 29 runs scored and only five runs allowed. This set up what was expected to be a very competitive battle for the championship.

Starting pitcher, Landen Skeen, had it going through four innings of work. Skeen was cruising behind a 3-0 lead and took advantage of the 643 hitters with his curveball, posting four strike outs.

After a lead-off double, followed by an RBI infield hit, and a couple of walks, eXposure found themselves down by one run going into the 6th inning. In the top of the 6th, Tyler Goddard was able to get a hit for the game tying RBI, scoring Landon Franklin

EXposure quickly fell behind again after a costly error in center field that gave DP Bishop an opportunity to break the tie. Kyle Chatham came up with a clutch RBI single to right field, giving his team what they needed for their come from behind victory by a score of 5-4.

643 DP Bishop was led by their starter, Jake Lawson, who had four innings of work and their two relief pitchers, Dylan Radaszewski and Maxwell Morey. Morey shut the door on eXposure Prime in the top of the seventh inning to secure the championship. The game lived up to its hype and then some.
