Week 2 Spring League Recap

Another wet and brisk Spring weekend caused games on Friday and Saturday to be cancelled, however all teams were able to get in a double header on Sunday and some of the top performers are below:

Top 2019 Performers



Harrison Cook (2019, Prairie HS) was impressive in his four innings of work while running his fastball up to 87 and flashing a plus curveball for strikes up to 75 miles per hour. Cook struck out eight and walked no one. Kentucky commit




Casey Sole (2019, Cedar Falls HS) with the no doubt HR to right on his lone hit of the day. Primary catcher and displayed plus receiving skills from a slightly taller stance. SE Missouri State Commit


Top 2020 Performers

Trey Morris (2020, Ankeny Centennial HS) crushed a bases clearing grand slam for Iowa Sticks Romanchuk. Trey collected three total hits on the weekend. Morris is a RHP/1B and is uncommitted.

Alec Nigut (2020, DM Roosevelt HS) worked two innings striking out three. The wide shouldered Nigut flashed a fastball that sat low 80's, topping at 83. The lefty is a University of Iowa Commit.




Devin Eudaley (2020, Dubuque Hempstead HS) pulls an RBI double down the left-field line. The uncommitted righty is a primary RHP/IB and has plus power to go with his size. He also picked up a triple on the day.

Johnathan Blake (2020, Dubuque Senior HS) struck out four and scattered two hits over two innings for DRBA Senior Rams Feeder. The uncommitted righty was up to 82 on the mound with a sharp curveball sitting in the lower 70's.

Joseph Harris (2020, Marshalltown HS) punched out five in two hitless innings for Iowa Select 20/21 Brune/Rath. The large framed righty is a intriguing two-way prospect with power potential at the plate. Harris is uncommitted.


Top 2021 Performers



Jackson Nove (2021 Prairie HS) The long lanky projectable left handed pitcher was up to 82 with his fastball while collecting five strike outs in two perfect innings of work.

Keian Secrist (2021, Liberty HS) worked two innings on the mound striking out a pair. The righty's fb ran up to 82 with sweeping breaking ball at 68 mph. Keian also tallied a double and an RBI at the plate.

Aidan Rath (2021, Mid Prairie HS) struck out the side in his only inning of work featuring a fastball up to 82 miles per hour and a sharp curveball at 70 miles per hour.


Top 2022 Performers

Iowa Select 2022 Gutwiler continued to look impressive offensively as they had two players hit home runs. Sam Wilt (2022, Anamosa HS) blasted his second home run in as many weekends to become a new leauge high. Gable Mitchell (2022, Iowa City High) crushed his first of the season after missing the first weekend.
