National High School Top 50: March 12
 
The top teams in the country are beginning to solidify themselves as there is only one change to the top 10 of this week's National High School Top 50. Sam Houston (La.) dropped two games and fell into the 20s while George County (Miss.) is off to an undefeated start off the backs of their stars Logan Tanner and Trevor McDonald.

The top five remains untouched as each team took care of business last week and is as follows: No. 5 Argyle (Texas), No. 4 Orange Lutheran (Calif.), No. 3 Lake Travis (Texas), No. 2 Colleyville Heritage (Texas) and No. 1 IMG Academy (Fla.). Colleyville was a preseason darling and they have done nothing to shake that moniker thus far, as star shortstop and projected top five draft pick Bobby Witt Jr. has led the offense and is putting up video game numbers thus far with an average of .500 with eight home runs. 

Some notable climbers include New Hanover (N.C.) and Doral Academy (Fla.) who are both off to undefeated starts with some impressive victories thus far. Cypress (Calif.) is also off to a 12-1 start with very good victories over La Mirada, Orange Lutheran and St. John Bosco already on the young season. Tampa Jesuit (Fla.) is undefeated to start and Bob Jones (Ala.) righted the ship and is undefeated since the PG HS Showdown. 

Newcomers to the Top 50 include No. 32 Corona Del Sol (Ariz.) who won the Boras Classic-Arizona over Hamilton (Ariz.) and posits a Top 50 rematch against each other today. No. 38 Benedictine (Va.) has not lost and are led by the strength of star shortstop Jamari Baylor while No. 41 Providence (Fla.) went undefeated at this past weekend's Tournament of Champions in Jacksonville. No. 44 Hurricane (W.Va.) is undefeated and one of the more consistent programs in the state, led by lefthander Jonathan Blackwell, while The Woodlands (Texas) comes in to solidify the depth of Texas this year. 'Iolani (Hawaii) remains unbeaten and enters at No. 49 where they boast multiple starters with a batting average over .500, including Shane Sasaki who is gaining some helium in terms of his draft status.

PHILADELPHIA – When the folks at Perfect Game reached out to invite him to pitch in the 2026 PG All-Star Game for rising sophomores and juniors, Cullen Scott had one request. “You mind if I get a couple of at-bats, too?” Along with his dad, Scott traveled from the family’s home in Texas to Citizens Bank Park. Year in and year out when the best young talent from across the country is packed into one national-level event the arms tend to win the week. That feels especially true in today’s amateur game where velocity, pitch design and high-level training in general are being introduced earlier than ever, allowing young pitchers to develop impactful stuff at a faster rate than younger hitters can consistently catch up to it. The Underclass Area Code Games are no exception and this year there was no shortage of arms that made you stop and take notice.
