College Fall Notebook: Oct. 24 (Arizona State, Texas Tech, Florida, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Florida State, East Carolina, Dallas Baptist)

The bad news for Butch Thompson is that he needs to replace three infielders and a catcher from last year’s breakthrough Super Regional team. And while he also loses the first pick in the draft in Casey Mize, there remains an impressive layer of star power in this program. Will Holland, Steven Williams, and Edouard Julien all look poised to have big years offensively. Tanner Burns, Davis Daniel and Cody Greenhill are yet to throw this fall but their high-end talent is undeniable.

Regarding the newcomers, freshman Ryan Bliss has a chance to win the second base job and Garrett Wade has both the best stuff and highest ceiling among a talented group of freshman arms.

DII/DIII/NAIA Rankings Update: April 24
