Matthew Johnston

Midway University
Johnston has a pretty mature 6-2/200 build and a fast right arm that produced a heavy running fastball that topped out at 88 mph. His 74 mph slider was a solid second pitch that he used confidently and threw for strikes.
Charles Stephenson
SS - 2019 - Columbus, GA
Berry College
The primary shortstop has athletic movements to the baseball in the middle infield and displayed them nicely during drills. Stephenson works from the ground up and uses his smooth footwork to carry his weight into his throws. He topped out at 88 mph across the diamond and 87 mph on the mound during the weekend's showcase.
Josh Gray
OF - 2019 - Jacksonville, FL
Tallahassee CC
The Tallahassee Community College commit had a nice overall performance over the weekend with a strong showing on the offensive side of the ball during batting practice and actions that play well in the outfield. Gray has a very athletic frame with a loose stroke at the plate and solid arm strength from his primary outfield position.
Devon Patel
RHP - 2019 - Spring, TX
Rutgers
Traveling from Texas to Georgia to only pitch at the event, Patel featured a fastball that topped out at 87 mph and the ability to consistently live down in the strike zone. The righthander has a very good curveball as well that displayed sharpness and tilt. The uncommitted prospect has a feel for the curveball that produced plenty of swings and misses working off of the fastball.
Abraham Sargent
RHP - 2019 - Pell City, AL
Mississippi College
Coming from the state of Alabama to the Fall Academic Showcase in Georgia, the primary righthanded pitcher sat in the low- to mid-80s topping out at 86 mph. He throws from a long arm action and flashed heavy life to his fastball at times with a curveball that flashed tight spin. Sargent showcased outstanding arm strength from the outfield as well.
Mark DeCicco
LHP - 2019 - Windermere, FL
Stevens Institute of Technology
DeCicco is a strong 6-2/195 southpaw with an over the top arm slot that creates very good angle to the plate. He topped out at 85 mph with his fastball and had a very effective upper 70's cutter that consistently got in on right handed hitter's fists.
Zack Michael
OF - 2019 - Apex, NC

Michael is a solid outfield prospect, with 6.9 speed and athletic actions on defense but may have just as high a ceiling as a left handed pitcher. He topped out at 85 mph from an easy low effort delivery and projects plus command on the mound.
Matthew Strzelecki

Strzelecki is a two-way prospect and a good overall athlete. He was up to 84 mph on the mound with a sharp 73 mph slider and ran a 6.77 and showed left handed bat speed at the plate.
Logan Byerly
OF - 2020 - Tyrone, GA
Andrew College
As far as showcase numbers are concerned there is no one who did more than 2020 outfielder Logan Byerly who posted the event best 60 time and outfield velocity at 6.71 seconds and firing 93 mph respectively. There is clear athleticism to Byerly's frame and his arm strength and speed are both impactful to the game.
John Marant
OF - 2020 - Tyrone, GA
Georgia
Not only putting up big numbers in the outfield and the 60 yard dash, Marant had one of the more impressive rounds of batting practice as well. Marant topped out at 90 mph from the outfield and showed looseness to his swing path as well as projectable power from his 6-foot-5, 195-pound frame.
Nathan Cmeyla
C - 2020 - Ashburn, VA
Dartmouth
Cmeyla was the top defensive catcher at the showcase and really showed his tools on that side of the ball well. He showed game actions in drills with a plus arm and 1.95 pop time, while also showing some pop in his right handed bat.
Blake Mahmood
RHP - 2020 - Eden Prairie, MN
Tulane
Mahmood has made multiple strong appearances on the mound at PG showcases and this time was no different. The 2020 righthander from Minnesota topped out at 88 mph creating a downhill plane for his fastball. He also mixed in a sharp breaking ball that produced multiple swings and misses working off of his heater.
Tyler Young
SS - 2020 - New Hope, PA
Lehigh
Young made the trip from Pennsylvania to Georgia and showed some of the more talented defensive actions of the event. He has a loose arm in the infield as well that produced a best throw of 87 mph. Young's footwork combined with his hands make him a talented defender in the middle infield. He also showed a mature approach at the plate with lots of feel for hitting the baseball on the barrel.
Campbell Cleveland
C - 2020 - Auburn, AL
Northwest Florida State College
Not only did Cleveland tie for the best catcher pop time during the weekend's event, but he also did so with good flexibility behind the dish. During batting practice, Cleveland displayed good bat speed in his swing with potential pop off the barrel with additional lower half involvement.
Frank Elissalt
RHP - 2020 - Miami, FL
Nova Southeastern/Florida Southwestern State College
Uncommitted, Elissalt showed interesting two-way potential with a strong swing at the plate that flashed potential pop and outstanding arm strength both across the diamond and on the mound. Elissalt topped out at 90 mph throwing across the infield with fluid actions and 86 on the mound with a compact arm stroke and a three pitch mix.
Holden Wilder
RHP - 2020 - Suwanee, GA
Wofford
Wilder is a big and strong 6-2/210 right hander who was up to 87 mph from a high 3/4's arm slot that creates big downhill angle and he threw lots of ground balls by keeping his fastball down in the zone. His change up was his best secondary pitch and he also threw a slider.
Matthew Barnhorst
OF - 2020 - Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Cornell
Barnhorst looks bigger than his listed 5-11/175 height and he uses that strength to generate very good bat speed from the right side. He wore out the left centerfield gap in batting practice while also showing 6.9 speed and good athleticism.
Peyton Carr
3B - 2020 - Fort Myers, FL
High Point
Carr stood out as one of the best right handed bats at the showcase. A strong 6-1/190 athlete, Carr took a strong batting practice but really turned it on in the game, at one point hitting a home run and a triple in back to back at-bats.
Zachary Mallia
RHP - 2020 - Crozet, VA
UNC-Greensboro
Mallia has a nice 6-3/191 build and plenty of physical projection. He was up to 83 mph with his fastball and showed good feel for an upper 60's curveball that he used as his swing/miss pitch. Better direction to the plate will give his stuff and command an immediate jump.
Colby Masters
RHP - 2020 - Augusta, GA
Wallace State CC-Hanceville
With a loose arm that projects for more velocity and already tops out at 86 mph, it is easy to see why Masters is a top prospect and ranked in the Top 1,000 of the 2020 class. The righthander creates good angle to the plate and flashed armside run to his fastball. His offspeed offerings included a 12-to-6 curveball and a diving mid-70s changeup.
James Reece
RHP - 2020 - Tunnel Hill, GA
Piedmont University
Reece's best skill is that he has command and feel for three solid pitches and can use them interchangeably and does. His fastball tops out at 85 mph and he also throws a solid curveball and change up.
Gavin Roberts
SS - 2020 - Parker, CO
Northern Colorado
Roberts is a young Colorado native with a projectable 6-1/150 build and plenty of present tools to build from. He shows good right handed bat speed with some barrel whip and a repeatable swing and plenty of infield arm strength and athleticism. He was also up to 83 mph on the mound.
Braydan "Gabe" Spedale

Spedale fits the leadoff/centerfield mold as a 5-10/150 left handed hitter with 6.77 speed and a solid throwing arm and overall athletic actions in the outfield.
Andrew Vogel

Murray State/Murray State College
Vogel is a projectable two-way prospect who should keep improving as he gets stronger. He has smooth infield actions with good arm strength and was up to 84 mph on the mound with the ability to land his curveball for strikes at any time.
Benjamin Waybright
C - 2020 - Knoxville, TN

Waybright showed solid defensive actions behind the plate during catching drills but really excelled at the plate. The lefthanded hitting backstop generates good speed with the proper implementation of his hips into his swing. When squared, the ball really jumps off of his barrel with strength through contact.
Adam Ebling
SS - 2021 - St Louis, MO

An interesting young two-way talent out of the state of Missouri is Adam Ebling. The primary shortstop has the ability to throw from multiple arm angle with good arm strength. He topped out at 89 mph across the diamond and 86 mph on the mound with a clean arm stroke. At the plate he uses a compact swing to get the barrel to the baseball and spray the baseball from gap to gap.
Jeremiah Newman
RHP - 2021 - Atlanta, GA
Grambling State
Newman has a young frame and lots of room to fill out but the baseball really jumps out of his hand on the mound. The righthander from Atlanta has a compact arm action and raw potential on the mound. He throws a trio of pitches including a heavy fastball that topped out at 85 mph, a heavy sinking changeup that he is comfortable throwing to hitters of either handedness, and a slider that shows two plane shape.
Mason Nichols
RHP - 2021 - Jackson, MS
Mississippi
Nichols has a frame to dream on as a young and projectable pitcher. The righthander has a low effort and controlled delivery with plenty of tempo producing a best bolt of 85 mph. The ball jumps out of Nichols' hand and when fully extended, he generates a downhill plane to the plate. He mixed in a pair of breaking balls that have potential especially his tight slider.
Gabe Hunt
SS - 2021 - Buford, GA
Florence-Darlington Technical College
Hunt is a very projectable 6-2/165 sophomore who has lots of tools that are just going to keep getting better as he gets stronger. He had nice infield actions at shortstop, has some present bat speed at the plate and was 82 mph off the mound.
Nelson Klein
LHP - 2021 - Pearland, TX
Uncommitted
Klein has a projectable 6-2/180 build and smooth pitching mechanics that enable him to fill up the lower half of the zone with strikes. He topped out at 83 mph on his fastball and showed good feel for a 67 mph curveball with big sweeping action.
Andrew Burns
3B - 2022 - Lynchburg, VA
Liberty University
Burns has a powerful swing that has current juice and pop off of the barrel when squared. The righthanded hitting third baseman also has improved actions in the infield with a clean glove and footwork. The 2018 14U National participant creates back spin and swings with intent to drive the ball to his pull side.
Ethan Grover
RHP - 2022 - Blountstown, FL
Princeton
One of the more projectable young pitcher's at the Fall Academic Showcase was righthander Ethan Grover. Working from a loose arm stroke, Grover produced a fastball that topped out at 83 mph with plenty of armside run. His arm works very well and with the proper adjustments to his delivery the 2022 graduate could improve in a hurry on the bump.
Chase Horst
LHP - 2022 - Manheim, PA
University of Cincinnati
Horst may not be overly physical quite yet but he is young and should fill out well moving forward. The lefthanded hitting outfielder has very quick hands into his swing with looseness to his path. The freshman from Pennsylvania has an aggressive approach at the plate and is only going to improve his pop off of the barrel with added strength to his build.
