JUCO Top 25: April 3 | Top 250 Junior College Prospects

For the first time in several weeks Walters State (Tenn.) actually lost a game. They'd been enjoying a winning streak that had reached 29 games before dropping one in their series with Dyersburg State. Regardless, Walters still had a 4-1 week and remain atop the PG Junior College Top 25 team rankings at this juncture with an overall record of 38-4. In fact, the top four of the rankings remain the same this week with San Jacinto (Texas) at No. 2, San Joaquin Delta (Calif.) at No. 3 and Central Arizona at No. 4. McLennan (Texas) jumped one spot this week to No. 5, rounding out the Top 5 teams.

Wabash Valley (Ill.) continues to get it done in the Midwest despite a horrific spring from a weather perspective this year, as they are up to No. 6 overall. Defending National Champions Chipola (Fla.) are up one spot to No. 7 with Sante Fe (Fla.) right on their heels, up two spots to No. 8. Crowder (Mo.) stayed at No. 9 while Connors State (Okla.) tumbled a few spots but remains in the Top 10 at No. 10.

Notables:

• South Mountain (Ariz.) continues their ascent, up another couple spots this week to No. 13 after starting the season unranked entirely (this includes the preseason Top 50, not just the Top 25). They stand at 34-10 overall right now and have as many quality wins as just about everyone else in the country.

• LSU-Eunice checks in at No. 12, up a pair spots this week, and they are far and away the top team in NJCAA Division II as of this moment.

• Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) and Tallahassee (Fla.) join the rankings this week at Nos. 22 and 25 respectively. Since the month of March began, Chatt Valley is an impressive 22-2 and is showing no signs of slowing down at 32-8 overall. Tallahassee had a huge series win last weekend over previously-ranked Northwest Florida State, sweeping the four-game set.

Rankings are based on games through Sunday, April 8.
