JUCO Top 25: March 20 | Top 250 Junior College Prospects

Once again there is no change at the top of the updated Perfect Game/Rawlings Junior College Top 25 as Walters State (Tenn.) retains in the No. 1 spot on the heels of another undefeated week. In fact, the top four spots overall remain the same as Central Arizona, San Jacinto (Texas) and Southern Nevada all retain their spots from a week ago following strong performances. San Joaquin Delta (Calif.) slides back into the No. 5 spot, as the CCCBA is well into conference play at this point.

The 6-10 slots look a bit different this week as some jockeying for position has taken place. McLennan swept four from a good Weatherford team following a Monday win over San Jac, and as such they jumped up to No. 6 overall. Likewise, Connors State (Okla.) jumped up to two spots to No. 7. Wabash Valley (Ill.) checks in at No. 8, Crowder (Mo.) dropped a few spots to No. 9 and Chipola (Fla.) holds steady at No. 10.

Notables:

• Neosho County (Kan.) checks back into the rankings this week following a very solid 9-3 run over the past few weeks.

• Chipola has been on a very good run in the last several weeks, winning 15 of 17 games to bring their overall record to 26-8 from what was a very average 11-6.

• Crowder did drop a few spots in the rankings, checking in at No. 9 overall this week, and it's easy to see them continuing to have great success given their top two arms in that rotation. Between Zach Jackson and Aaron Ashby, Crowder has a chance to win the opening two games of pretty much every weekend series they'll play.

• There's an especially interesting run of Florida teams at spots 10-12 in the rankings, with Chipola, Santa Fe and State College of Florida all bunched up.

• Cisco (Texas) continues to be potentially the hottest team in the country from a W-L perspective, but the strength of schedule hasn't exactly been awe-inspiring. They still have Grayson, McLennan and Weatherford left on the schedule so we'll find out how real Cisco is in terms of being a contender quickly.

• There's been a bit of an internal change within the rankings, as LSU-Eunice jumped over Jones County. LSU-Eunice checks in at No. 15 and Jones County at No. 16, which represents the top two teams from NJCAA Division II as they exist in the vacuum of our overall rankings.

Rankings are based on games through Sunday, March 25.
