March 21 Top 25Top 150 Junior College Prospects

Despite having their first "rough" week of the season, Chipola (Fla.) remains at the No. 1 spot this week, although they did split a four-game series with Northwest Florida State last week. Their body of work to date was still too overwhelming to jettison them from the top spot, even after a 2-2 week. However, the capital they'd built up has been used up now so another fringy week could see a new No. 1 for the first time all season.

The next two remain the same after both No. 2 Jones County (Miss.) and No. 3 Connors State (Okla.) had strong weeks, though Jones County finally did lose their first game of the season and now stand at 23-1. LSU-Eunice, who has been right around the 5-10 range all season, jumped up a couple of spots into the top 5 and is at No. 4 this week with Santa Rosa (Calif.) slipping one spot but remaining in the top 5 at No. 5.

The remainder of the top 10 was similarly static, with Santa Fe (Fla.) dropping one spot to No. 6 and the Nos. 7 and 8 teams remaining the same with Walters State (Tenn.) and Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.), respectively. Dyersburg State (Tenn.) continues to roll and now stands at 29-2 overall and 11-0 in conference and as a result they moved up one spot to No. 9, while McLennan (Texas) is very hot at the moment and jumped up into the top 10 as a result.

Odessa (Texas) and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (Okla.) both made solid jumps this week, with Odessa moving from No. 13 to No. 11 and A&M jumping from No. 17 to No. 14.

Newcomers this week are Polk State (Fla.) at No. 17, Wallace State (Ala.) at No. 21, with Palm Beach State (Fla.) and Gulf Coast State (Fla.) rounding out the Top 25 at Nos. 24 and 25, respectively.

Could we have a new No. 1 team next week for the first time all season? Chipola has a big series this week with No. 25 Gulf Coast State in a series that could have ramifications in some ways up and down the Top 25. Stay tuned!
