Thursday Recap

Friday Recap
Louisiana State pushes itself back into the No. 1 spot after they flip-flopped 4-0 and 2-2 weeks with Texas Christian, who returns to the No. 2 spot. The Nos. 4-5 and 8-10 teams all move up a spot, with Louisville jumping two, as Florida endured a mid-week loss to Florida State and lost their three-game series against Missouri. The Gators fell to the 10th spot in the rankings as a result.
It was a good week to have a rough week in the middle of the pack, as most of the teams that faltered past Florida were ranked in the teens, which prevented a drastic upheaval in the overall rankings. North Carolina and South Carolina are definitely on watch as they continue to struggle in conference play, and the same is true for Houston.
Missouri was one of the teams considered for Top 25 inclusion, but they lost mid-week to Illinois, giving them a 2-2 record since last week's rankings; but at 22-11 they're definitely knocking at the door. At 26-6 Nevada continues to draw strong consideration, while Rice and San Diego State are also in the conversation.
The last spot in this week's rankings came down to 23-8 Coastal Carolina and 21-7 Iowa, with Iowa given the nod due to the superior RPI (43 to 23). The Big Ten in general has been very impressive this season, as four teams (Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska and Iowa) are now ranked.
