2024 Top Prospects

Cesar Gonzalez  C - 2024 - Springfield, MA
Boston College

Gonzalez opened the eyes of everybody in East Hartford with big tools across the board. A primary catcher, the Massachusetts native threw an impressive 80 mph from behind the dish but also ran his heater up to 90 mph on the mound while missing plenty of bats. He collected plenty of barrels in live actions too after showing bat speed and strength throughout his round of BP.

Alex Cook  LHP - 2024 - Dover, NH
Penn State

Cook didn't waste any time getting comfortable on the mound during his three inning appearance Sunday, running his FB up to 87 mph (~2400 rpm) early with a quick tempo and 3/4 slot. The mechanics and release point were consistent and controlled with natural movement present in the arsenal that generated five strikeouts during his outing. Cook has feel for spin and still has velocity projection left in the 6-foot 165 pound frame.

He struck out 5 in 3 innings of work.

Connor Niemiec  RHP - 2025 - Westfield, MA
Uncommitted

Niemiec is a strongly built right-handed who's listed at 6-1/210 and brought a power fastball with him to the showcase. Up to 85 mph on the heater, Niemiec stays compact with his arm stroke which allowed for plenty of strikes while challenging hitters at the top of the zone. He also spun a breaker with confidence, showing slurve action to it up to 72 mph which played well off of the heater.

Braydon Sturino  RHP - 2025 - New Milford, CT
Uncommitted

Sturino showed a quiet and loose operation on the mound, working from a higher three-quarters release in which he ran his fastball up to 83 mph with running life through the zone. He quickly found a feel for his curveball and started landing it for strikes with short, ,downward break to the bottom of the zone.

2026 Top Prospects

Luke Williams  SS - 2026 - Murrysville, PA
Virginia

Williams impressed on both sides of hte ball throughout the weekend, but it was in the dirt where he shined the brightest. From his footwork to glove skill and overall arm strength, Williams looked more than comfortable on defense and played shortstop with ease. There's also big intent and bat speed in his right-handed swing, already showing feel for the barrel and an all fields approach.

Owen Palmer  SS - 2026 - Woodbury, CT
Uncommitted

Palmer showed off the athleticism in the broad 6-foot 190 pound build throughout his weekend, topping out at 78 mph both across the diamond and on the mound with clean actions and natural ability present. He controlled the body well regardless of where he was on the field and flashed the ability to generate impact the opposite way on the offensive end from an open stance, posting an exit velo of 81 mph.
