Outfielder and right-handed hitter Zach Spidle (2024, Bloomington, Ill.) displayed excellent athleticism all over the diamond this weekend, with a clean swing, efficient routes in the outfield, and seven stolen bases. Also was willing to work deep into counts and reached base on four walks. Standing at 6-foot-1, 160-pounds, showed surprising power potential from a simple stroke. Begins upright before a slight bounce off the back leg as a timing mechanism. Very quick backside and hand drive toward the baseball, flexible upper body rotation allows for healthy uphill bat path. Clean contact and finish consistently. Uncommitted Spidle brings a lot to the table and should be able to capitalize on gains made in the weight room.
