Mattheson Go (2023, Acworth, Ga.) set the tone well for the Home Plate Chili Dogs 16u Searcy squad out of the leadoff spot. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound catcher/infielder finished up the game going 2-for-4 with two singles and two RBI. Go showed a contact oriented approach in the box and found a couple barrels on Saturday. The swing is short and compact with good rhythm and a quick barrel through the zone. The Acworth native is a gamer with a nose for the game and great baseball instincts. Behind the plate, Go shows above average athleticism and quiet actions. Nothing flashy about the uncommitted backstop but he flat out gets in done as he is hitting .400 in the tournament with four RBI and three stolen bags.
