MASH 16U Henkemeyer defeated the Big Replacements 10-1, thanks in large part to an eight-run fourth inning that was kicked off by a Will Briggs (2023, Shakopee, Minn.) home run. This one was gone as soon as it left the bat, as Briggs jumped all over a 1-1 fastball, getting the barrel turned over with authority and easily creating lift at contact. The primary catcher is a high intent swinger and certainly does not get cheated on his hacks. He does a great job of coiling into his back hip pre-pitch, and he creates big separation in his upper half, which allows for maximum bat speed and leverage.
