Batting Practice Highlights: Great Lakes HS All-State Games
Lucas Farabaugh (2026, Ottawa, Ill.) showed some good swings at the plate during BP, with feel to impact the baseball out in front. He drove the ball in the air well during his round and was able to show good turns with a short & quick swing.
Tommy Ciesla (2027, Huntley, Ill.) had an athletic swing in the batter’s box, showing feel to impact the baseball, with good barrel accuracy. He worked through contact well with feel to impact it a bit out in front and produce good results working pull-side.
Tyler Malczewski (2026, Waterford, Mich.) took some good swings during BP, showing length through contact with feel to impact the ball well, working gap-to-gap. He produced a good round of swings and had a simple & functional swing on display with good bat-to-ball skills.
Decker Kleppin (2027, West Bend, Wisc.) was able to impact the ball with strength during his rounds of BP, he impacted the ball well with a quick stroke, showing loud results. He drove it well to all fields, especially showing the strength working pull-side.
Christophe De Wijkerslooth (2027, Chicago, Ill.) showed the ability to create separation and stay loose while working through the zone. He had a whippy barrel and good hand speed to impact it as he produced some good line drives working pull-side during his round of BP swings.
Evan Gomez (2028, South Elgin, Ill.) swung it well from the left side during BP, showing good bat speed with feel to impact the baseball and work uphill through contact. He had shorter uphill stroke, matching planes well in BP to produce hard contact in the air.
Landon Ligler (2028, Glenwood, Ill.) took some good hacks during BP, with a clean right-handed stroke on display. He was able to hit some balls hard in the air, creating separation, impacting it with strength and good extension through it. He worked back up the middle for good results and flashed the ability to work pull-side.
Jaylen Camacho (2028, Lakewood, Ill.) took a loud round of BP swings, showing good feel to impact the baseball working uphill. He drove the ball to the gaps well, and was able to flash the bat speed, impacting the ball off the barrel well during his round of BP.
Sean Lemke (2027, Mequon, Wisc.) showed the ability to work to both gaps and show strength at impact. He produced hard contact in the air with aggressive turns and good bat speed, doing damage all over the place during his round of BP swings.
Kaden O’Leary (2027, Lockport, Ill.) has a clean right-handed swing, with feel to drive the ball on-time and out in front. His best results came working pull-side, but he was able to work back up the middle as well. He had a good feel to drive it, showing bat speed during his round of BP swings.
Howie Porarth (2027, Channahon, Ill.) had a simple and smooth left-handed swing on display during BP that allowed him to stay on-time and in-sycn during his rounds. He showed good strength off the barrel with present bat speed as well. Took a good round of BP swings.
Gavin Weston (2028, Hampshire, Ill.) was able to produce loud contact during BP. He worked gap-to-gap and back up the middle, with feel to stay through the ball well. It was a loose right-handed stroke, allowing him to create some whip and impact it well.
John Artinghelli (2028, Huntley, Ill.) swings it from the left side with good turns and feel to work pull-side in to left field. He impacted the ball well with some feel to lift and create good leverage. The lefty had a real loud round of BP swings.
Billy Main (2026, Hinsdale, Ill.) took a really loud round of BP swings, showing bat speed and twitch in the box. He was able to impact it out in front and drive the ball up the middle consistently. He had some bat speed and leverage ability that allowed him to work on the barrel and produce hard-hit balls throughout his round of swings.
Chase Nelson (2027, Crown Point, Ind.) found some barrels during his round of BP swings, spraying line drives all over the field with hard turns and feel to throw the barrel head through the zone. He was able to stay in-sync and impact it backside for his loudest results.
Carter Reiners (2027, Bloomington, Ill.) worked uphill through contact with feel to impact it. He showed strength back up the middle and drove the ball hard all over the field with good bat speed. Reiners put together a good round of bat speed, showing traits to like with his left-handed stroke.
Jonathan Riley (2026, Lafayette, Ind.) handled the bat well during BP and was able to throw the barrel head well, staying in-sync to create whip and leverage the ball out in front. He took some really loud hacks during his round of BP swings, finding plenty of barrels.
Brayden Walls (2027, Schererville, Ind.) took some good hacks during BP, with a loose left-handed stroke, flashing hard contact working back up the middle. He was able to impact the ball out in front and stay loose working through contact. Simple stroke that yielded loud results during BP.
