Jack Campbell is a 2029 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Blythewood, SC who attends Blythewood. Medium athletic build with some present strength and more to come. 7.24 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has clean actions and handles his glove well, stays balance on the move, occasional extra steps to throws, makes accurate throws with some carry. Right handed hitter, starts from a narrow base with a very deep and low hand load, rotational swing, tends to stay on his back side, longer uphill swing plane, will need adjustments at the plate. Also pitched and has mound talent to develop. Works from an abbreviated wind up with good lower half actions down the mound, gets some coil, 3/4's arm slot, repeats his arm action and mechanics well. Fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph, threw his fastball to spots with some arm side life. Slider was a good pitch with some sweeping depth, replicated his arm speed on his change up as well. Graded out best as a pitcher at this event.
