Colton Wright is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Dickinson, TX who attends Santa Fe. Primary LHP with a long and lean frame. Starts on third base side of rubber and uses a rhythmic toe-tap delivery from a belt high leg lift. Works inline well and repeats mechanics downhill. Fastball worked up to 81 with a ton of late biting ASR getting in on righties and forcing late uncomfortable swings. Showed a solid curve that he could land in the zone with depth and healthy shape. Good feel to spin in general and should continue to get better with refinement and polish. Projectable off the mound. Also played outfield getting up to 79 from there with low liner accurate throws. Fields it out front with a one hand gather off to side. Gets the ball out fine from the outfield. Was up to 78 from first base as well. Showed good hands and comfort around the bag. Throws from a low adjustable slot with accuracy. Right-handed hitter with a wider base. Uses a knee lift trigger for timing and rhythm. Middle of the field approach and stays in approach well with good consistency. Simple parts to the swing that work well. Showed good bat speed with whip to hands and strong ability to really lift and launch the ball. Swing is compact with bat speed. Showed good strength off the barrel and should continue to get better.
