2025 PG Sunshine Southwest Showcase (National Showcases Qualifier)
Jaxon Valdez is a 2025 RHP/1B/UT with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Queen Creek, AZ who attends Williams Field. Big and strong physical build. Primary right handed pitcher, has a clean and repeatable uptempo delivery with a short and compact arm action, polished mechanics, 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, threw strikes aggressively with his fastball and had some running life. Likely has more velocity there at present if he hadn't taken drills at three positions previous to taking the mound. Slider was a solid second pitch for him with some spin and depth. 7.33 runner in the sixty. Secondary first baseman on defense who also threw from the infield and outfield. Arm strength showed at all positions, has good glove work at first base and plenty of athleticism for the position. Left handed hitter, hits from a straight stance, has a rotational swing approach with mostly pull side contact, loose hands at contact and strength gives him some ability to impact. Excellent student. Signed with Upper Iowa. Named to the PG Sunshine Southwest Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
