7-Orange, 8-Purple, 9-Red Highlights

5/15/2016

Tyler Esplin (2017 OF, Lake Bluff, IL) had two hits on the day including a double.  He showed plus bat speed and consistently drives the baseball hard to all fields.

Cort Roedig (2018 RHP, Orlando, FL) was 79-83 MPH and flashed a solid curveball at 72 MPH.

Shane Marshall (2018 C, Naples, FL) continued to tear it up this weekend.  He was up to 86 MPH with plus control on the bump and showed great actions behind the dish.  He also doubled and drove in a run.

Garett Wallace (2018 3B, Sanford, FL) showed explosive contact off the barrel in his double with power to all fields.

Malik Lissone Brown (2017 RHP, Lake Worth, FL) was 87-89 MPH filling the strike zone and his breaking ball showed good depth.

Christopher De Guzman (2017 SS, Fajardo, PR) had two knocks on the day and showed a smooth glove in the field.

Dilan Espinal (2017 SS, Canovanas, PR) had two hits against the Red team showing a short, compact swing making consistent contact.

Serge Ushkevich (2017 MIF, Sarasota, FL) had loud contact off the barrel with good use of his lower half.

Ian Matos (2017 OF, Toa Alta, PR) doubled in today's game and consistently barreled up baseballs.

Andrew Paraiso (2017 RHP, Ocala, FL) sat 82-85 MPH with his fastball and showed a 75 MPH breaking ball.

Diego Ramos (2018 SS, Delray Beach, FL) was 83-85 MPH and made quick work in his relief appearance.

Garrett Evans (2018 SS, Apopka, FL) laced two balls for a couple hits on the day.  He is a good athlete that has good barrel to ball skills.

Ben Zimmerman (2018 LHP, Pace, FL) doubled against the Purple team and later scored.

Luke Drummond (2017 RHP, Temple Terrace, FL) was 84-86 MPH mixing in a 72 MPH curveball and a 78 MPH changeup.

Columbia Blue vs. Navy

5/15/2016

Dylan Rogers (2019 OF, Spartanburg, SC) is only a freshman but it's easy to tell he's going to be a very good player.  He hit the ball right on the nose three times from a sweet left handed swing, one of them a double over the CF'ers head and made the defensive play of the game, a sliding catch against the 1B dugout fence.

Noah Rivera (2018 C, Lehigh Acres, FL) also hit the ball hard all three times to the plate, collecting 2 hits, including a loud double down the right field line.

Jose Navarro (2016 3B, Homestead, FL) really stands out with his mature 6-6/235 build.  He hit a double off the top of the left field fence at the plate today and topped out at 86 mph on the mound.

Brant Brown (2018 OF, Venice, FL) is a position prospect with a loose and easy swing but he also showed some tools on the mound, topping out at 84 mph with a sweeping curveball.

Jared Defaria (2018 OF, Weston, FL) crushed a triple to centerfield and ended up scoring  when the throw to third ended up in the third base dugout.

Enrique Guilbee (2016 2B, Tamarac, FL) lined two hard hits to right field, the second one being a double.

Jordan Schulefand (2017 SS, Parkland, FL) is a primary middle infield prospect with some loud tools but he also looked solid on the mound, throwing 84-86 mph with a sharp 72 mph curveball.

Joseph Delgatto (2017 RHP, Spring Hill, FL) did a very nice job of keeping his 82-84/T86 mph fastball down in the zone, where he gets good sinking action.  He also throws a 73 mph slider that was very effective and that he could use more often.

2-Cardinal vs 5-Gold

5/15/2016

Justin Wager (2017 MIF, Orange Park, FL) was 83-85 MPH in his two innings of work.  He also flashed a 73 MPH curveball and a 76 MPH changeup that helped him strikeout three hitters.

Gregory Dominguez (2016 RHP, Lehigh Acres, FL) was up to 85 MPH in his four scoreless innings.  He only surrendered one hit and struck out four.  He also had four hits at the plate showing a consistent swing with good athleticism all around.

John Guzman (2017 MIF, Coral Springs, FL) sat 82-84 MPH in his relief appearance.  He gave up no hits, no runs, and struck out four hitters.  He also was good for two base knocks at the plate.

Jackson Taylor (2017 C, Hiawassee, GA) showed good bat speed on a line drive swing plane in his two hits today.  He consistently finds barrels and makes loud contact.

Rashad Collymore (2017 OF, Mississauga, ON) continued to show off tools and athleticism.  He showed good bat speed in his two base hits.  He makes hard contact and is aggressive on the bases.

Ryan Velazquez (2017 RHP, Canovanas, PR) was up to 87 MPH on the hill while also flashing a slider at 75 MPH and a changeup at 76 MPH.

1-Black vs. 4-Dark Green

5/15/2016

Sean Gourley (2017 C, Ocala, FL) put on a good display on the field today hitting a single in his first at bat and topping out at 83 MPH on the bump.  He also played behind the plate defensively keeping runners in check with good arm action and footwork.

Michael Farinelli (2017 SS, New York, NY) showed a real live fastball running it up to 87 MPH with good movement.  He would occasionally mix in a two seam with great arm side run along with two different breaking balls.  The four pitch mix kept hitters consistently off balance.  In his last at bat of the day he doubled.

Yamil Chavarria (2017 OF, Miami, FL) was up to 84 MPH on the mound and settled in nicely with his off speed pitches, he also singled at the dish.

Brennan Keil (2019 RHP, Ormond Beach, FL) has a ton of projection with his size and should continue to develop nicely on the hill as he puts on additional strength, up to 81 MPH.

Ricardo Rivera (2018 LHP, San Juan, PR) had two hits on the day including an extra base hit the opposite way.  He scored twice in his three plate appearances.

David Vazquez (2017 SS, Hialeah, FL) hit a double in his last at bat for two hits on the day.  He showed quick hands at the plate on a line drive swing plane.  Good possibility of more power potential in his future.  Showed a high baseball IQ in his at bats.

Justin Connell (2017 SS, Pembroke Pines, FL) drove the ball well again at the plate for a double in his first at bat.  Connell generates a lot of leverage in his swing with good power.

Ryan D Roman (2017 C, San Antonio, PR) doubled in his first at bat of the day.  Behind the dish he has a short arm action with good strength.

Batting Practice Highlights

5/14/2016

Chris Mondesi (2018 SS, Brooklyn, NY) took perhaps the best BP of the day, showing a loose, extended swing with lots of raw bat speed.  As you'd expect from a member of the MLB Mondesi Family, he had a very advanced load and shift into contact and overall excellent hitting mechanics as well as his physical skills.

William Jeffry (2017 OF, Caguas, PR) is still very slender at a listed 6-0/157 with extra long and slender legs but he has both bat speed and a very good feel for the barrel and squared up almost every ball, including a long home run into the lake beyond the left field fence.

James Hurst (2019 OF, Orlando, FL) is another player who showed nice feel for the barrel and hit the ball from a proper load and shift into contact.  He's only a freshman but he looks like a player to watch down the road.

Sean Riera (2018 3B, Miami, FL) is a big and strong sophomore at 6-0/200 and he has strength in his swing and can get the ball to jump hard off the barrel.

Myles McKisic (2016 SS, Delray Beach, FL) looks bigger than his listed 6-2/175 and has strength in his swing with nice loose extension when he doesn't get to inside the ball and lets the barrel hunt out front.

Daniel Perez-Battistini (2018 1B, Miami, FL) is a strong young man with a very projectable 6-1/185 build.  He's an aggressive hitter who is looking to drive the ball and has the bat speed and barrel skills to do so frequently.

Brant Brown (2018 OF, Venice, FL) looks like he has a chance to be another car in the long train of prospects that keeps coming through Venice High School.  The sophomore has a pro type body and a loose and projectable swing with good present bat speed.

Ivan Prejean (2017 3B, Sorrento, LA) showed a well timed load and shift into contact with a loose and strong swing that showed solid gap power.

Justin Connell (2017 SS, Pembroke Pines, FL) has very good raw bat speed from a very aggressive swing approach and hits the ball very hard with severe top spin at times.

Kristopher Soto (2018 3B, Coral Gbales, FL) has a long and loose pull/power oriented swing that was both very well timed and executed and got the ball to jump hard off the barrel.

Brennan Keil (2019 RHP, Ormond Beach, FL) was notable for a number of reasons.  First, he's a freshman who is 6-6/195 with hitting skills and tools at the plate.  Second, he's a primary pitcher!

Jeffry Roldan (2017 2B, Aguada , PR) has a high average, high contact approach from the left side and a crisp swing with good bat speed.  He hit the ball hard to all fields and looked like a polished hitter with an idea at the plate.

Chris Rodriguez (2017 1B, Coral Springs, FL) has an extra strong bowling ball type of build but has a very strong and loose left handed swing that really impacted the ball hard and often.

Tyler Esplin (2017 OF, Lake Bluff, IL) is big and athletic at 6-3/210 and has plenty of raw bat speed and impacted the ball hard when he got his foot down in time to start his swing.

Garett Wallace (2018 3B, Sanford, FL) is a strong sophomore with an aggressive swing and good bat speed who flashed big hitting tools.

Earl Semper (2017 3B, Fort Lauderdale, FL) is a very nice all around athlete who stood out in drills in both infield and outfield and switch-hits as well.  He's legit from both sides with very good hand quickness and overall bat speed.

Caleb Roberts (2018 C, Coral Springs, FL) had a very sound and well executed left handed swing approach for a sophomore catcher and is very projectable physically.

Carlos Salaverria (2018 OF, Weston, FL) is a slender athlete at 5-9/156 but has whippy bat speed with quick hands and wrists to start his swing.

7-Orange, 8-Purple, 9-Red Highlights

5/14/2016

Bryan Wilcox (2017 LHP, Davie, FL) was up to 86 MPH in his four innings of work.  He struck out five batters and got a lot of weak contact.

Serge Ushkevich (2017 MIF, Sarasota, FL) doubled in his first at bat.  The ball jumps off his barrel and drives the baseball with ease keeping his barrel in the zone for a long time.

Christopher De Guzman (2017 SS, Fajardo, PR) doubled in his second at bat on a short, compact swing with good strength.

Nicholas Perez-Battistini (2018 OF, Miami, FL) had two singles against the Red team.  He is athletic with good actions and a smooth swing, good pop off the barrel.

Jaden Steagall (2018 SS, Hiram, GA) was up to 81 MPH in his relief appearance producing a lot of ground balls.

Daniel Flacco (2019 RHP, Ormond Beach, FL) was also up to 81 MPH doing a nice job of keeping their hitters off balance.

5-Gold vs. 6-Navy

5/14/2016

Rashad Collymore (2017 OF, Mississauga, ON) had three hits including a double.  Collymore has good strength and bat speed with pop off the barrel.  Collymore is a physical player with good tools, very intriguing follow.

Joe Diaz (2017 1B, Miami, FL) had two base hits with hard contact all day across the board.

Justin Wager (2017 MIF, Orange Park, FL) produced two base hits including a double.  Wager showed a line drive swing plane with speed on the base paths and down the line.

Ben Petty (2019 3B, Dacula, GA) had three base hits on the day with a double.  Petty was able to show off good speed down the line beating out two infield singles.

Jackson Taylor (2017 C, Hiawassee, GA) has present strength and makes consistent hard contact, ended the day with two base hits including a line drive double.

Max Pearton (2017 RHP, Gainesville, FL) was up to 82 MPH with six strikeouts in four innings.  Pearton consistently misses barrels and produces a lot of weak contact.

Dylan Rogers (2019 OF, Spartanburg, SC) was also up to 82 MPH in his two innings of work.  Rogers has good projection for a 2019 and showed good potential as a two way guy.

Joseph Delgatto (2017 RHP, Spring Hill, FL) laced two base hits.  Delgatto starts with a slightly open stance and has some natural lift through the point of contact.

Briggs Neff (2017 RHP, Rexburg, ID) was up to 83 MPH from a three-quarter to over the top arm slot.

3-Columbia Blue vs. 4-Dark Green

5/14/2016

Bradford Jones (2017 RHP, Osprey, FL) was up to 90 MPH in his consistent arm action.  Jones brings the ball up high through the back and generates good extension out front.  Jones keeps control of the game with his tempo and good command.  He should continue to improve further as his off speed continues to develop.

Justin Connell (2017 SS, Pembroke Pines, FL) had three hits on the day including a double in his last at bat.  Connell has a large frame with strong hands and good extension through the baseball.  He also gets good leverage and has power potential down the road.

Owen Jansen (2017 SS, Oakville, ON) scored twice in his multi-hit day.  Jansen stays relaxed at the plate with quick hands.  He is also a threat on the base paths getting good jumps and reads on both the pitcher and catcher.

Austin Smith (2017 C, Pompano Beach, FL) displayed a contact approach at the plate in his opposite field approach.  Smith has plenty of room to fill out as he continues to mature which could potentially add to more loud contact in the future.

Britton Baxter (2018 RHP, Land O Lakes, FL) settled in nicely mixing his curveball and fastball for strikes on a regular basis.  His fastball was up to 84 showing some life while his curveball sat in the 68-70 MPH range with good depth.  Baxter also doubled in his first at bat showing the ability to drive the ball to the opposite gap with some authority.

Daniel Perez-Battistini (2018 1B, Miami, FL) came in the last two innings for Columbia Blue sitting 80-84.  He has a stronger build with good heaviness to his fastball.

Ivan Prejean (2017 3B, Sorrento, LA) is a scrappy player with a quick stroke and actions.  He had nice day at the plate and ran the bases well.

1-Black vs. 2-Cardinal

5/14/2016

Jose Amaro Luna (2017 RHP, Cidra, PR) was 81-85 MPH with loose arm action and good depth on CB.  Has the projection to throw harder down the road as he continues to mature and gain strength.

Cade Fergus (2018 OF, Plantation, FL) had a couple base knocks on the day showing good bat speed.  Fergus starts in a slightly open stance and high back elbow.  Projects to hit for more power in the future.

Matt Morgan (2017 OF, Windermere, FL) tripled in his first at bat and later scored.  Morgan has a squared stance and showed hard pull side contact.

Sean Riera (2018 3B, Miami, FL) had two base hits in the game swinging on a line drive swing plane.

Dejuan Vandyke (2017 RHP, Fayetteville, GA) was up to 84 MPH from a 3/4 arm slot.  Vandyke showed good deception in his devilry getting downhill plane and good lie on his fastball.  His slider was up to 75 MPH and was a great secondary pitch.

Myles McKisic (2016 SS, Delray Beach, FL) tossed two innings in the 84-86 MPH range from a 3/4 arm slot.  McKisic has good arm strength and easy arm action in delivery.

Chris Mondesi (2018 SS, Brooklyn, NY) smashed two hits including a double displaying good bat speed and power potential.  He is the type of hitter to make an impact every time he steps up to the plate consistently making hard contact.
